WERQ with Dessi WERQ is the wildly addictive cardio dance workout based on trending pop and hip hop music. When you come to WERQ with Dessi you can expect a NON JUDGEMENT ZONE!

Join me for class at Underground Cycle and Fitness on Monday and Thursdays at 6:30 pm Our mission is to create a judgment-free dance space built on good vibes, a great sweat, and a supportive community. What you can expect in a Werq class with Dessi:

Each song we do in class is a song that you have probably heard on the radio (pop and hip hop). Every song will have a choreographed dance that will

be the SAME each time in my WERQ class or any WERQ class that you attend in any fitness facility across the country. We turn the lights off and add in party lighting and fog for the ultimate dance experience!!! MANY people say that because it is dark they do not feel as self-conscious about dancing and let loose much more....which burns more calories! We like to dance, shake, yell, be silly, and have a GREAT TIME. We don't care if we dance good or not, we just MOVE and burn calories. If you are a professional dancer or if you have never danced a day in your life you belong and will have fun in this class. I always encourage you to STAY AT YOUR OWN LEVEL. That might mean marching in place during parts of the class that are too high impact or stopping to get a drink whenever you need to. I'll never call you out or put you on the spot. All that matters in my WERQ classes are that you are having fun and burning calories. What you look like DOES NOT MATTER TO ME OR ANYONE IN CLASS! :)

You do not have to be a gym member to attend these classes. The cost for non-members is $7. Childcare is provided for an extra fee during the classes. Come a few minutes early your first time to check-in. Make sure to say "Hi" and introduce yourself to me after class!! I love to meet everyone and know a little about you!

I’ve started this post a million times, and it’s still hard to find the right words. My heart is broken into a million pieces after learning that Allan passed away last week. There isn’t a single class that goes by where I don’t think of him at some point during the music or the movement.

If anyone would like to go with me tomorrow to the receiving of friends, please let me know. I would love the company.

I know we’ve changed gyms a couple of times since Allan was in class, and everyone has gone in different directions, but I would really love to organize a class in the next few weeks to pay tribute to him—dancing to all of his favorite songs. If you would come, please comment below so I can start planning.

I have so many memories of Allan to share. I’ll share more when my heart and brain have a little more time to process all of this. 💔🖤

Mr. Allan R. Everett, Jr., age 51, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Everett was born on October 15, 1974, to Linda Harris Everett, Elizabethton, and the late Allan Ralph Everett, Sr. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Angel Everett, grandparents, Doc & Shirley Harris and Gordon & Clara Everett.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his stepfather, Wayne Wooten; sister, Angela Everett (Michael Collins); uncles, Gerald “Rabbit” Everett (Debra “Dee”), Donald Harris, Sr. (Terry) and William Harris, Sr. (Ada); cousins, David Harris, Donald Harris, Jr., Ricky Harris (Shana) and William Harris, Jr. (Gina).

Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Centerview Church of Christ, 441 Hatcher Lane, Elizabethton, TN 37643, with Pastor Tony Hoss officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

My heart is hurting as I just learned that our friend Laura Prime has passed. As far back as I can remember she has been a part of my group fitness classes. Each time I changed gyms, Laura would go with me. She took our Thriller video to the next level by suggesting we dress up and do zombie makeup. Her favorite dances were Simon Says and Purple Hat. She even bought me a purple hat with cheetah print for Christmas one year. I'm struggling a bit because in October she messaged me saying we should get together and I told her I would love to, but I was so busy. That's a hard lesson. I should have made the time. I have no doubt she's in Heaven dancing now with no ailments to worry about. Thank you Laura for being such a wonderful friend and dance partner!

I'm back!!! This is OUR LAST WEEK at Be Victory Fit!! Please join me tonight at Thursday at 5:30pm for our farewell classes! I can't tell you the sadness this brings me. This has been a fantastic run at Victory Fit, full of new friends, experiences, and dance! I hope you will join us as we continue at Underground Cycle and Fitness. I'm so excited to announce that I'll be teaching WERQ dance fitness at Underground Cycle and Fitness beginning November 10th! Classes will be on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm.
