Some of Egypt’s most valuable healthcare intelligence may already be in the room.

Not every breakthrough begins with a new machine, a new platform, or something imported from abroad.

Sometimes it begins with a nurse noticing a change before it appears in a report.

A physician recognizing a pattern.

A frontline team seeing where communication, workflow, or patient experience is starting to break down.

That is not “just experience.”

That is intelligence.

Egypt already has extraordinary medical talent inside its hospitals and healthcare institutions.

The opportunity now is to build systems where what people see at the bedside can travel quickly enough to reach the people empowered to act on it.

Because when frontline insight becomes leadership intelligence, better decisions can follow.

The question is not only what Egypt can bring in.
It is also how much more value Egypt can unlock from what it already has.

But what else could the world come to Egypt for? 🇪🇬

For me, that question goes far beyond tourism.

Egypt already has remarkable medical talent, hospitality, history, geographic reach, and an ability to welcome people from around the world.

Now imagine connecting those strengths around something deeply human:

Health. Prevention. Precision. Longevity. Trust.

Not simply bringing someone to Egypt for a procedure — but creating an experience where a patient feels confident before they arrive, cared for while they are here, and connected to care long after they return home.

That is the opportunity I keep thinking about.

This September, I am returning to Egypt to listen, reconnect, and have meaningful conversations with physicians, healthcare leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and others who see possibilities worth exploring.

Because Egypt does not need another beautiful slogan about its potential.

It needs the right people connecting the strengths that already exist.

And sometimes, one conversation is where something important begins.

That is a question I keep coming back to.

Healthcare is not only about treating illness. It is about helping people live longer, stay stronger, remain productive, care for their families, and contribute fully to their communities.

And when that happens, the impact reaches much further than the clinic.

Stronger people.
Stronger families.
Stronger communities.
A stronger Egypt.

Higher standards matter.
Measurable outcomes matter.
Trust and transparency matter.

Because when people trust the care they receive—and when excellence can be demonstrated—healthcare becomes more than a service.

It becomes part of a nation’s strength.

I was born in Egypt. I built much of my medical career in America. And now I am coming home with a belief that has only grown stronger with time: Egypt has an extraordinary opportunity to help shape the future of global healthcare. 🇪🇬

Cancer care is never only about the cancer.

A diagnosis enters a medical chart — but it also enters a family.

It changes routines.
Relationships.
Priorities.
And sometimes the way the future feels.

Throughout my years in medicine, one truth has remained constant: excellent cancer care must address more than the disease itself.

The person living through cancer still has fears, goals, responsibilities, relationships, and a life beyond the diagnosis.

That is why I believe truly patient-centered cancer care should bring together:

• Clinical excellence
• Clear communication
• Continuity of care
• Quality of life
• Family support
• The patient’s own priorities

Treat the disease seriously. Care for the whole person completely.

As I prepare to return to Egypt, I look forward to exchanging perspectives with physicians and healthcare leaders already advancing cancer care and exploring how stronger collaboration can continue improving the patient journey.

The right people do more than fill a room. They change what the room can see.

Decades in medicine have taught me that the strongest decisions rarely come from one voice alone.

They happen when experience meets a new perspective.
When physicians listen to patients.
When established leaders make room for younger voices.
When people from different disciplines are willing to challenge one another with respect.

And sometimes the most important leadership question is simply:

Who is still missing from this conversation?

To me, leadership is not about having the most important seat at the table.

It is about recognizing who else needs to be there.

As I prepare to return to Egypt, I think about this often.

Egypt already has remarkable physicians, educators, entrepreneurs, innovators, business leaders, and professionals with international experience.

The opportunity is not simply having all that talent.

It is connecting it around the right conversations.

Because sometimes progress does not require another speech, another title, or even another idea.

Some of the most important healthcare decisions happen before anyone enters a hospital.

Before the emergency.
Before disease becomes advanced.
Before treatment becomes more difficult.

That is where prevention begins.

Earlier detection.
Regular screening.
Better health education.
Metabolic health.
Daily choices that protect health over time.

Hospitals, physicians, technology, and treatment will always be essential. But after decades in medicine, I have learned to ask another question just as seriously:

What could we have done earlier?

For Egypt, I believe prevention deserves to stand alongside medical excellence, innovation, physician education, and advanced treatment as part of the same healthcare conversation.

Because prevention is not simply about avoiding illness.

It is about helping people live healthier for longer.
Helping families recognize risk earlier.
Helping communities stay stronger.
And giving future generations a healthier foundation on which to build.

Egypt already has tremendous medical talent and healthcare expertise. The opportunity is to strengthen the connection between excellent treatment and what happens before treatment is ever needed.

Cancer changes more than the body.

It can change the rhythm of a family, the shape of an ordinary day, and the way tomorrow feels.

For me, great cancer care has always meant holding two responsibilities at once: treating the disease with medical seriousness and caring for the whole person living through it.

Whole-person cancer care connects physicians, communication, follow-up, quality of life, family needs, and the patient’s own priorities around one human being.

Egypt gave me my roots. Four decades of medicine gave me experience that I now want to bring home—working alongside Egypt’s skilled physicians and committed healthcare institutions.

My mission is to build upon Egypt’s existing strengths, strengthen international medical collaboration, and help advance connected, patient-centered cancer care in Egypt and beyond.

Because healthier people strengthen families. Stronger families strengthen communities. And stronger communities create a brighter Egypt.
