From “A big and common mistake I see when intaking clients, is that they think they need to create drastic changes to their life in order to get healthier.
Often I feel like this stems from having a bit of an overzealous idea of what “health” should look like, rather than saying “ok, this is where I am NOW, how can I add a few simple things to move me toward x”.
When I started working out, I had this image of who I wanted to be, what I wanted to look like, etc…and I didn’t think I would feel satisfied til I got there.
Now I simply ride the wave that is life and constantly ask myself “how can I add in a healthier behavior today? What can I do today to improve my health just 1%”?
Some days that may be a 10 minute walk, other days it might be a weightlifting session, or maybe just adding in a piece of fruit or a vegetable to my lunch.
I don’t look for perfection, I don’t look at health and fitness as an all or nothing. It’s a piece of the puzzle that is my life. Some weeks it fits in differently than others.
Ask yourself, how can I make 1 small adjustment to benefit me and my health? 1 thing that feels doable right NOW, not later when life is simpler, cause let’s be honest, does that ever actually happen?”
