Congratulations to our dancers at 💙 We brought home so many awards, but what meant the most was seeing how much everyone has grown. Watching them go from nervous to confident on stage, and from performing the choreography to really feeling and expressing it, has been so special. APDA is so proud of every single one of you!

Last night, we slept over at the dance studio (actually slept). For one night, APDA became a small “home.”

The studios were covered with sleeping bags.
The kids, in their pajamas, chatted, ate snacks, watched movies, and laughed until they couldn’t stop.
The same girls who usually work so hard in front of the mirrors were, last night, simply children.

Some memories aren’t about competitions or trophies, but about the sense of safety that comes from falling asleep at the dance studio with your friends one night.

Congratulations to two of our outstanding students who competed at UBC Dayton and YAGP Austin. Allyson Zhang received 1st in contemporary and 2nd in classical in ’s senior intermediate category, while Kelly Lu received top 12 in classical in ’s senior category. Best of luck to everyone competing in the 2025-26 season!

Congratulations to our dancers who participated in World Ballet Competition. We had the honor to perform our group dance “Harmonics of Autumn” in WBC’s All Stars of Dance gala.

Below lists the final placements of our soloists and ensembles:

Pre-Professional Category:
- Katherine Yang; 8th place
- Claire Ling; 9th place

Professional Category:
- Evelyn Yang; 1st place
- Kadence Wang; 6th place
- Jessica Wang; 7th place

Ensembles:
- Harmonics of Autumn; 1st place, receiving perfect 10’s from every judge
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; 5th place
- Ode to Joy; 6th place
- Habanera (Sophie Wang & Grace Li); 10th place

The girls of APDA love, support, encourage each other, and work together to create one beautiful chapter after another. Special thanks to for providing our students with an amazing opportunity to not only showcase their skills but to also enjoy their time performing on stage. Our students had a wonderful experience at UBC Grand Prix Finals in Chicago! Congratulations to all of our soloists, duets, and ensembles that participated and brought home well deserved awards!

- Ode to Joy: 1st Place in Junior Intermediate Ensembles
- Calligraphy: 1st Place in Junior Competitive Ensembles, Outstanding Ensemble award
- Harmonics of Autumn: 1st Place in Senior Intermediate Ensembles, invited to perform in UBC’s Gala
- Habanera: 2nd Place in Senior Intermediate Duo/Trio performed by Grace Li and Sophie Wang
- Confluence: 2nd Place in Senior Competitive Duo/Trio performed by Katherine Yang and Kadence Wang
- Top 15 in both Classical and Contemporary in Senior Competitive by Katherine Yang

Thank you to all of our teachers and choreographers who helped us earn these awards. Special thanks to Ms. Sara who choreographed both Calligraphy and Harmonics of Autumn, where Calligraphy was awarded with the Outstanding Ensemble award and Harmonics of Autumn had the honor to perform in the Gala.

Our repertoire recital and the full length ballet “Coppelia” will be held at Gas South Theater at 1:30 p.m. (repertoire) and 6:00 p.m. (Coppelia) on April 20, 2025.
