Bananas 11u

Bananas 11u The Bananas believe in keeping the game fun and creating memories. Our players are only young once.

We create a positive environment where teammates love being on the field competing together.

FIRST WEEKEND OF 11U IS IN THE BOOKS… SORT OF⚾️🍌

Well, Mother Nature apparently wasn’t quite as excited about bracket play as we were 😂🌧️

Our Bananas got their first taste of 11U baseball yesterday and while we certainly saw some things we need to clean up, there was A LOT to be excited about!

We finished pool play 1-1 and earned the #3 seed out of 8 teams, with our only loss coming against the team that finished pool play as the #1 seed.

And the frustrating part?

It felt like we were just getting started.

Our bats started to heat up as the day went on, we had plenty of pitching left and the boys seemed primed and ready for what should’ve been a really fun day of bracket baseball.

Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. 🌧️

But that’s baseball.

For a group making the jump to 11U, we’ll take it as a pretty solid starting point.

We learned some things.

We found some things we need to work on.

We saw some things we’re REALLY excited about.

And most importantly, these boys competed, had fun together and gave us a glimpse of what this group can become.

Nobody is hanging a banner for being the #3 seed after pool play 😂 so we’ve got work to do.

And that’s the exciting part.

We’ll get back in the facility this week, get back to the grind, keep developing and keep building.

This was Week 1, not the finished product.

🍌 New age group.
⚾️ New challenges.
🔥 Same Banana energy.

The biggest disappointment of the entire weekend besides the weather?

Apparently with ALLLLLL the parents we had at the ballpark…

NOT ONE OF US REMEMBERED TO GET A TEAM PICTURE 🤦‍♂️😂😂

We’ll try to be better next tournament too😂📸

Proud of these boys and excited to see where this fall takes them.

11U has officially begun.

Some nights are bigger than baseball ⚾️

Thursday night was one of those nights for our Bananas.

We had the opportunity to spend our MLU organizational practice learning from brothers Cam and Tre Jackson and what started as a two hour workout turned into something these boys will remember for a long time.

Cam was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in this year’s MLB Draft and will continue his baseball journey at the University of Oklahoma, while Tre is continuing to chase his own baseball dreams in college as well.

But as impressive as their baseball accomplishments are, what impressed us most Thursday night had nothing to do with a baseball.

These guys drove all the way from Statesboro to Jesup to pour into our kids. They worked with them from 6–8 and when practice was over, they didn’t rush out the door. They stayed until after 9 taking pictures, signing autographs, answering questions and just talking baseball with a bunch of young players who were hanging on every word.

You can’t put a price on experiences like that.

Our boys got to learn from two talented baseball players but more importantly, they got to see what it looks like when older players take the time to give back to the next generation.

A HUGE thank you to Cam and Tre for giving our boys something they’ll be talking about for a long time. You guys gained quite a few little fans in Jesup Thursday night!

And thank you to MLU Baseball for continuing to create opportunities and experiences like this for our kids.

Keep dreaming big, boys. The guys you’re looking up to today were once standing exactly where you are. 🍌⚾️

🌟 Bananas Spotlight🌟

A huge congratulations to our own #16, Beau Caton, on being recognized as Youth Athlete of the Month in Island Living Magazine! 👏⚾

This honor is about much more than baseball. It recognizes Beau’s hard work, character, love for the game and the way he represents himself both on and off the field.

We couldn’t be more excited to have Beau and his family as part of the Bananas this season. His versatility, work ethic and team first attitude are exactly the kind of qualities we’re building our program around.

Congratulations, Beau! This recognition is well deserved and we can’t wait to see all the great things you’ll accomplish this fall.

Let’s hear it for #16 👏 🍌⚾️

Two years ago… this wasn’t much more than an idea.

An idea that started with three boys…

Tripp. Dash. Huck.

Three families that believed in building something special before there was anything to show for it.

Somehow, we convinced the Savannah Bananas to let us start a team, and we’ve been writing our story ever since.

Over the last two years, more than 40 different players have worn a Bananas jersey.

Some played one game.

Some played one tournament.

Some stayed for a season.

Some became family.

(Huxty still owns a perfect 1.000 On-Base Percentage after his lone 10u tournament as a 6 year old… and yes, we’re counting it. 😂)

Brennan joined us for the final tournaments of that first fall and never left.

Tyler and Trotter came aboard that following spring and helped us continue building.

We’ve had kids pick up from all over Georgia, Florida, South Carolina… even inquiries from as far away as Ohio.

Mav made the drive from Florida for an entire year.

One of my favorite stories began with a random Facebook friendship.

A dad from West Virginia posted on a Perfect Game page that he wanted to see what his 8 year old could do against older competition and specifically in GA. They had several opportunities closer to home but for some reason they chose The Bananas… the team that was the farthest away!

Those crazy folks drove all the way to Georgia to play with us.

Then they came back and did it again.

Today… they’re not driving anymore.

They moved to Jesup and Easton is officially a full time Banana.

Jackson Anderson first wore our jersey during our final 9U tournament before making the jump into 10U with us.

Beau started picking up with us this spring and is now officially part of the family.

This summer we met Jaxson Young and Memphis Mayfield, and they completed what we believe is a very special group.

This roster wasn’t built in a weekend.

It wasn’t built through one tryout.

It wasn’t built by chasing the best players.

It was built over two years of relationships… trust… shared wins… tough losses… long weekends… countless practices… and families believing in the culture we’re trying to create.

Every one of these 11 boys earned their spot.

Every family has helped build this team into what it is today.

And that’s what makes this roster special.

It’s more than a baseball team.

It’s become a family.

To every player who’s ever worn a Bananas jersey over the last two years…

Thank you for being part of our story.

And to these 11 young men…

Congratulations.

Wear that jersey with pride.

The best chapter is still ahead of us.

🍌💛 Banana Spotlight! 💛🍌

A huge congratulations to Easton Thompson on an incredible weekend representing Kentucky in the USSSA National All State Championship 🇺🇸⚾

Easton and his team battled all the way to the National Championship Game, finishing as National Runner Up🥈

To top it off, Easton took the mound in the biggest game of the tournament and showed exactly the kind of competitor he is:

🔥 2 innings pitched
🔥 7 strikeouts
🔥 Only 1 hit allowed

We couldn’t be more proud of the way he represented himself, his family and The Bananas.

Congratulations, Easton!

We can’t wait to have you back in the yellow pin stipes this fall.

The future is bright! 🍌⚾

🍌⚾️ It’s bigger than baseball ⚾️🍌

Tonight, the Bananas family traded our cleats for Savannah Bananas tickets 😎🍌

We were missing Easton, Huck and Memphis but the rest of our Banana family had an absolute blast together. We were even joined by several of our MLU family members, making it an even better night.

One of the things we’re most excited about this season isn’t just building a competitive baseball team, it’s building friendships, memories and a team that genuinely enjoys being together. That’s the kind of culture we’re striving for.

The wins and losses will come and go, but these are the moments these boys will remember years from now.

Thank you to all of the parents for making nights like this possible. We can’t wait to get this season started!

The future is bright 🍌💛

This is exactly what it’s all about.

Different age groups
Different coaches
One organization
One goal

Watching all of these kids working together under one roof last night was something special. We’re far from perfect but we’re building something that I truly believe is going to have a lasting impact on a lot of young ballplayers.

Proud to be a small part of it.

Let’s keep building.

PG End of Summer Runner Up.
Proud doesn’t even begin to describe it 🍌⚾️

It was a long, hot weekend and by the time we reached the championship game, these boys were running on fumes.

They emptied the tank.

They battled through the heat, sore bodies, bumps and bruises and never once quit. We just didn’t have enough left in the tank to finish the drill.

Sometimes the scoreboard doesn’t tell the whole story.

This weekend, I watched a group of young men play for each other, encourage one another and compete with heart every single inning. That’s something to be proud of.

We’ll learn from it.
We’ll grow from it.
We’ll get back to work.

Because that’s what this team does.

To our players, parents, and everyone who supports Banana Baseball… thank you for believing in these boys. The future is bright, and this is only another step in our journey.

Heads up. Eyes forward.

We’ll be back 💪🍌

Let’s Go Bananas! 🍌⚾️
