CFJC is the only CrossFit gym in Jersey City, situated in the heart of downtown, just steps from Grove St PATH station. We offer group and individual coaching, using the CrossFit methodology. CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting & running) executed at high intensity. Instead of rows of stationary bikes and weight machi

nes, our facility is filled with pull-up bars, kettlebells, barbells, rowers and wide open space for squatting, running, jumping, climbing, lifting and throwing – moving your body the way it is supposed to be moved. All of your workouts are made up of exercises that mimic movements performed in day-to-day life or sport. We focus on improving functional movements that are necessary and common in your daily activities, like picking up your kids or moving that bag of mulch from your trunk to the backyard. Instead, you train with a small group of other athletes and one of our experienced, professional coaches who come up with a different, fun workout everyday and help customize it to suit your fitness level. All workouts are one hour long and guaranteed to make you work hard. Our workouts are designed improve your capacity in ten recognized fitness domains: cardio-respiratory, endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. And, working with a small group of athletes helps you get the personal attention that you just can't find at a large gym. We strive to create a friendly and fun atmosphere that welcomes athletes from all walks of life. Your team is there to motivate and support you as you transform yourself mentally and physically.

This year’s NYC Pride theme is “For All of Us,” honoring the legacy of Marsha P. Johnson and the spirit of intersectionality and liberation that she embodied. That is community. Before we get into the week, we need to take a moment and celebrate our HYROX family. The past week of racing has been absolutely incredible, and we have been screaming from the sidelines the entire time. You represented JCFit with everything you had, and we are so incredibly proud of every one of you.

Now let’s talk about this week. We are continuing to build in our Deadlift and Front Squat cycles. Week 2 means we know the weight, now we own it. Olympic lifting skill work continues with a clean complex on Friday. Tank Top Tuesday is back with more upper body accessories and push/pull work. And Wednesday brings a spicy alternating-interval workout that’ll test your engine and legs.

In case you missed it, here are some of the fun moments from our Zumba class led by Coach Rommel! He doesn’t just coach CrossFit-he’s also a certified Zumba instructor.

His number one rule? Have fun!

The class was packed with energy, great vibes, and a music playlist that kept everyone moving from start to finish. Thank you to everyone who came out, gave it their all, and brought such positive energy to the room.

Dust off your leg warmers. Pull out your highest high tops. The 80s were a turning point for LGBTQ+ Pride, and this June, we honor that legacy by moving together and raising $3,000 for .fdn, so inclusive fitness spaces never stop existing.

| Today’s challenge is to balance on one leg while assessing your hip mobility and core stability. This simple routine can help improve body awareness, balance, and movement control while addressing mobility limitations.

Need to scale it down?
Try performing the exercise while lightly leaning against a wall for support. Focus on maintaining good posture, controlled breathing, and steady balance throughout the movement.

Remember: quality of movement is more important than duration. Stay controlled, stay stable, and notice how each side of your body feels.

Happy Pride Month! June 1st means something special at JCFit. This gym has always been and will always be a place where everyone belongs, no matter who you are, who you love, or where you’re starting from. We are proud to celebrate our LGBTQ+ athletes, coaches, and community members who show up and put in the work every single day. You are seen, you are celebrated, and you are home here. Let’s make it a great month.
