Spend a Few Minutes With Dennis Conner
Dear Sailing Enthusiast,
I am writing my friends to spread word about a series of sailing conversations Dennis Conner, America's Most Famous Sailor, has been doing online.
Dennis and I first met in 1988 when the America's Cup was being contested between San Diego and New Zealand. Then we were business partners for 10 years at North Cove Marina.
I have always enjoyed Dennis' perspective on sailing. Few people have experienced as much history as Dennis, from the America’s Cup to the personalities, boats and changes that have shaped sailing over the past half-century.
And Dennis shares his opinions in a straight and direct manner. I have learned a lot from Dennis over these many years.
Now Dennis is sharing some of these stories and insights in a series of podcasts on YouTube and Facebook. If you love sailing, these podcasts are interesting and worth following. Very seldom do you have an opportunity to hear directly from a Grand Master.
Here are links to some of Dennis' recent podcasts. After you watch one, hit the subscribe button or "like" it.
1 - Before the start of the Newport Bermuda Race - https://www.facebook.com/reel/1047407421292189
2 - Some interesting thoughts on the America's Cup before Barcelona - https://youtu.be/M-crCxZN_Mo (in which he also mentions our flagship Arabella!)
3 - Here's an opportunity to own a piece of Dennis' sailing history, Moxie a Tripp 47 - https://www.facebook.com/reel/1589063329279033 (at MYC, we are just starting to put together syndicates of members to buy some of these great race boats. We hope to be ready for the next opportunity.)
I hope you enjoy hearing from Dennis. Be sure to say hello and leave him a note after you watch... you never know.
Best wishes,
Michael Fortenbaugh
