This is not technically a "Pain Free Through Movement" activity, but it is something that I think would be great for all of us.
As we all know, walking is good for us, but I confess, just walking around Nettles Island bores me. I much prefer walking somewhere scenic. Barry Kantz is organizing a gentle hike this Saturday morning (about a 40 minute drive from here). The length of the hike can be either 1 or 2 miles (depending on how far you want to go). The pace will be gentle. I'm definitely going! Here are the details from Barry:
===========================================
There is a side of "Natural Florida" that you just can’t see from the beach, and it’s waiting for us only 40 minutes away.
I’ve had some interest in our first group outing, so I wanted to share the official details! This Saturday, January 10th, we are heading to Halpatiokee Park to explore the stunning trails and local scenery. This isn't a race or a strenuous trek; we’ll be moving at a leisurely pace to really soak in the environment.
If you’ve been looking for a reason to get off the island and move a bit, this is it. All you need is a bottle of water, a camera (or your phone) to capture the views, and a sense of adventure.
The Plan:
When: Saturday, January 10th.
Meet Up: 9:00 a.m. sharp at the Nettles Island fish cleaning station.
Travel: We will travel together/carpool from there (it’s about a 40-minute drive).
Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just want a nice walk in the woods with neighbors, you are welcome! If you have any questions at all, feel free to shoot me a DM here or text me at (616) 724-0019.
