I have been putting off this post for a week since our season ended.
I didn’t realize it would hit me this hard to end this chapter. I know that all good things must come to an end and I can truly say I’m grateful to the athletes who really begged me to stay one more season.
Ive obviously learned way more than 10 things from being the coach of this team, some that have changed who I am as a person and how I look at life. But I hope this post can help new coaches navigate the crazy terrain that comes with managing a team.
If you know me then you already know I’m tearing up while I write this silly post that probably only a few will read. It’s a strange feeling to end something you love knowing you aren’t what they need any longer. It’s even more strange to build something else in replace of it because you know you need to grow yourself.
My hope is that I have made even the tiniest impact on ALL my athletes lives, cause really what’s the point in living if we aren’t doing that? So this post is a reflection of my 7 years with a team who will always be in my heart.
With so much love,
-Coach Sparling 🫶🏼
