Maybe you are new to my page so I figure I’ll share a bit about myself and why I love what I do so much.
I have 3 children that I love more then life. I also have 3 dogs, 2 horses and rabbits. I have done many things in my life I have called a job, but ISR will be my last career. I found the thing that fulfills me in a way I didn't know possible. Watching the children I teach find air on their own and giving other families the same peace I found as a mom, is the best thing ever!!
13 1/2 years ago I had no idea what ISR was. I was home on maternity leave with a new baby girl. We lived on a lake. I hadn't even thought about swimming lesson for her. No one had even mentioned it. Half of the yard was water front, with no way to keep her from getting to the water. A friend shared a video, from Infant swimming resource, of a little boy in blue pjs falling into a pool and, then like magic, roll to his back and float. I could not believe what I was watching! I immediately went to ISR instructor locator to get her enrolled as soon as I could. She started at 8 months old and I was amazed. The first time she rolled to her back was the same magical moment as in the video. I loved watching her learn and respect the water with each lesson. My second daughter started as soon as she was able as well. I would choose ISR all over again!
I was given the opportunity to get certified and started teaching in 2018 while still working at my career at the post office. I fell in love with teaching children to be safe in the water. So much so that I built an indoor pool in 2020 to be able to teach all year and reach as many children as possible. 4 years ago I left my career at the post office to make teaching ISR my full time "job"!
