I would like to thank the NCAA for doing the right thing yesterday.

The new clock protocol makes it clear that everyone should be looking at the same clock, and replay officials should use the broadcast clock when determining whether time needs to be corrected.

Sadly, this does not change the outcome of the Western Michigan vs. Michigan game.

But we Alabama fans KNOW how much of a difference one second can make in football. 😉

One second matters.

I dreamed about my Dad last night—we were talking college football, and he’s been gone 11 years.

He was a high school football coach, played college ball and was ALABAMA OBSESSED.

So of course, his first question was:

“How’s Alabama?”

“Pa…a LOT has happened.”

“Saban?”

“Retired.”

“Who’d they hire?”

“Some guy from Washington.”

“No they didn't…”

“Also, Saban is on GameDay now and lobbying Congress about college football.”

“WHAT?”

“College players are making MILLIONS.”

“WHAT?”

“Some NFL players are coming BACK to college.”

“WHAT?”

“There’s a transfer portal.”

“WHAT?”

“The SEC, Big Ten and Big 12 have teams all over the country now.”

“Why?”

“Money.”

“Of course.”

“The SEC is suing LSU and Lane Kiffin.”

“THE SEC IS SUING LSU?”

“Yes.”

“You can bet on games from your PHONE now.”

Silence.

“Oh, and that kicker, Pat McAfee? He’s on ESPN.”

“The kicker?”

“Yes. The kicker.”

At this point Pa just looked at me like I had completely lost my mind and threw his hat on the floor.

Then he said, “Well, I’m glad I’m dead,” and I woke up. 😂🏈

The Jemison High School Blue Regiment Band has been selected to represent Alabama in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade!

That is HUGE for our kids and for our community. Here’s a little taste of their halftime performance Friday night! 👇🏼

Those Demopolis players stood outside our locker room last night.

They were shaking hands with our players. Fist bumping them. Telling them how good they played. How hard they fought. Telling them that if they keep playing like that, they’re going to do big things.

HOW COOL IS THAT?

I’ve been around Jemison football for six years, and I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything quite like that.

Our Panthers may not have gotten the win last night. Demopolis took the 35–21 win, but our guys kept this game within one touchdown until late in the game. They fought hard.

And the fact that it came from the guys who had just spent four quarters battling our Panthers—and from a program that has historically beaten us big, like 70–0 big—makes it mean even more.

To the Demopolis players who took the time to encourage our guys after the game—thank you. You probably don't realize how much those few minutes meant, but I do.

That is what high school football is supposed to be.

Competition between the lines. Respect when the final whistle blows. Young men recognizing the effort and heart in the young men standing across from them.

And to our Panthers: hold your heads up!

You fought. 💪

You stayed in that game. 💪

You showed what you’re capable of. 💪

Keep building. Keep believing. Keep playing like that.

Big things really can be ahead. 🐾🏈

Thank you, Demopolis. You reminded us that sometimes the best moments of football have nothing to do with the scoreboard.

Update and breaking news per SEC COUNTRY

The SEC has officially filed a lawsuit against LSU and head coach Lane Kiffin, per ON3’s Pete Nakos. 😳

The lawsuit alleges LSU and Kiffin “waged a deliberate and coordinated campaign to recruit professional athletes to play football for LSU during the 2026-27 season.”

The legal battle was already underway, but now the SEC is directly going after LSU and Lane Kiffin as this fight continues to escalate.
