These antlers sat bleached white in a garage for over 20 years, completely stripped of their natural color and character. Instead of paint or traditional stain, I restored them using a chemical process with potassium permanganate. This method reacts directly with the bone, creating natural, organic tones that mimic true antler aging rather than covering the surface. Applied in controlled layers, the color develops through chemical reaction, bringing depth, warmth, and realism back to the antlers.

Ledbetter special 👍

Some trophies take time… and some stories refuse to fade.

This whitetail was taken 25 years ago, and after all that time, it finally found its place where it belongs, on the wall, where the memory lives every day.

That’s the thing about taxidermy. It’s not just about antlers or inches. It’s about preserving a moment, a cold morning, a steady breath, a heartbeat you never forget.

For 25 years this deer was a story waiting to be finished. Now it’s part of a legacy that’ll outlast all of us.

Every mount I work on isn’t just an animal, it’s someone’s memory, someone’s hunt, someone’s chapter frozen in time.

This one waited a quarter century.
And it was worth every second.

I thought this was incredibly cool. I’ve only ever seen photos of this and never expected to come across one in person.

This deer has visible canine teeth, something most people don’t even realize deer can have. These canines are remnants from ancient deer ancestors that used them more prominently before antlers became the primary display and defense feature.
