Hi karate families (and anyone interested in checking out karate this summer)!

Check out the new Fort Atkinson registration page for programs and activities. There is still time to sign up for summer karate camps and any age 5+ is welcome. The first camp starts next week! Each camp will run four days (Mon-Thurs) and each day will cover a different focus of kata, bunkai, sparring, and test prep for the advanced levels, and a more broad overview for beginners. This is a low commitment session, because we know that there is so much going on in the summer, so sign up for all four camps or just one - whatever you/your student is available for! Let me know if there are any questions.

Additionally, this Saturday, June 20th, is Kyoshi Wells memorial practice at 10am. This is open to both current and previous students!

Final reminder, with it being summer time, students are welcome to wear a solid color t-shirt or t-shirt from their school as part of their uniform. Please still bring the gi jacket in case we need it for bunkai. As always, Novice 1 doesn't need a uniform yet!

Join Sensei Bolton and myself on June 20, 10am to honor the memory of Kyoshi. This is tor both past and current students!

Hello all,
Sensei Megan, Fort Park and Rec and I invite you all to the Fort Municipal gym on Saturday June 20 to honor the memory of Kyoshi Brad Wells. There will be a workout for any that would like to participate. We will also share memories and stories. We will begin at 10 am, but come when you can. If you are unable to make it, but still would like to share your thoughts, please send a video. You can post it here, or with Sensei Megan or send a dm. We also will be sharing these with Beth Wells.

Hi karate families,

I am very sad to share that the founder of our dojo, Kyoshi Brad Wells, passed away. I will forever be grateful for what he created here - a place for countless kids and adults to not only learn martial arts, but more importantly, challenge ourselves and grow as individuals, knowing that someone believed in us. And I get the honor of working with all of your students in our dojo today, because of that.

Sensei Bolton and I will be planning something in the future to honor him. I will post an update when we have more details.

This rainy morning fits my mood.

It is with much sadness that I share with you the news that our Shin Gi Tai founder, Kyoshi Brad Wells, passed away peacefully in his home early yesterday morning after a long illness.

He was such a passionate man who cared deeply about may things. He loved martial arts and teaching . He worked to bring karate to communities through park and rec programs and YMCA’s so that more people, especially kids, had access.

He loved making pottery and had a wonderful eye for art of all kinds.

He loved working with his dogs and and wanted to do search and rescue with them to help people in need.

He adored his wife Beth the most.

He was a wonderful mentor and generous with his time.

We will miss him.

Sensei Megan and I will be planning something in the future to honor him. I hope you will join us if you are able.
