I always assumed exhaustion was a part of getting older or
_
That couldn’t be further from the trust as I had more energy at 32 with a newborn than I did at 22 as a newbie teacher!
_
The change?
_
I’ve learned what foods fuel my energy + which drain it.
_
Here’s the hard part... having to accept that some foods (even thought delicious) just don’t serve us + the full of life lives we want to live!
_
For me, the following changes have made all the difference so I’m fully committing BACK to it:
_
1. Saying adios to gluten + dairy. With my these are common thyroid “no’s no’s,” and when I cut them out (before pregnancy + during breastfeeding), my energy ramped up!
_
2. Daily nutrient dense shake. This isn’t a magic shake... the other meals matter too, but the nutrients in this shake help me cut out a multivitamin + give me all day energy.
_
3. Body weight in Oz of water. Every says 1/2 your body weight in Oz, but I just feel, esp if working out, I feel best when I drink my body weight in Oz of H2O!
_
4. Sleep training 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ HaHa... Momma gotta sleep so training Rhett how to sleep at night was super important to my energy as well as his development!

Happiness is tied to our Happenings while Joy comes from a Hope in something Deeper.

One of the most frequent (not fitness related) questions I get is “How do you stay so positive?”
_
It’s been tough to place my finger on an answer, but I think this is it: My JOY is not dependent on what’s happening to me. It is tied to trusting the One who created me.
_
In fact, the most hopeful, joy-filled times in my life have been in the middle of a storm: heartache, financial stress, worry...
_
And the only explanation for that is because it I was forced to throw my hands up + open to the One who was in control of it all + I fully gave the outcome to Him to decide on.
_

I started working out because I needed to feel “normal” as a 24 year old divorcee living in my aunt + uncles basement with their 4 boys. 💕

I started changing my eating because I was dumped by who I thought was “the one” + I wanted to prove what I was made of.
_
I committed to my first full on 21 day program when my then boyfriend left to pursue his dreams + I was suuuuuure I was just going to live the with my 🐶 .
_
I continue now because it has become so ingrained in my day to day life, I’d feels more strange to NOT eat well + exercise than it does to do those things...
_
Oh and I want to look like a smoke show for my hubs + always keep up with our lil dude.
_
Honestly, girl, it doesn’t matter why you start... it just matters that you do + that you keep showing up when it gets hard. 🙌🏼🤷🏼‍♀️

Gotta be real that maybe the most “body fluctuating” thing in this postpartum journey has been coming off nursing + getting my period back for the first time in almost 2 years!! 😳🤷🏼‍♀️😭

It brought on all the bloat, exhaustion + hunger that I had heard about but assumed “That won’t happen to me!!!” 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
-
So, to say I was pumped to see my 10 day results from our 100 day program is an understatement!
-
Still working through my thyroid levels being off (aka exhaustion), but feeling back on track since aunt flow left for another 28 days! 😂🥴

One of the top Qs I get from moms is “How do I get workouts in with kids?”⠀

My simple answer: Finished it better than perfect. 🤷🏼‍♀️⠀

It doesn’t “just happen” though. It has to be planned + it may not happen when you WANT it to happen. ⠀

For me, that time was after Rhett would wake up for a 3am nursing sesh... I would just stay up to get my workout in before he woke up for the day. 💤 ⠀

Now, it’s at 5am before he gets up for the day. But, there are still days when he wakes when we wake and we just roll with the punches (like today)! ⠀

My top workout with a kiddo tips:⠀

-make breakfast real fast and let them eat while you sweat.⠀
-grab toys they love⠀
-do your best to just keep moving or get them involved in the moves
-ask the hubs if he can help for 30 min so you can have Me time!

Tell me what the ONE thing you’d start with that’d make all the difference in your life right now...⠀

💸 spending ⠀

🤷🏼‍♀️ time management⠀
📚 reading time⠀

For me, it’s time management! My 🐿 🧠 has me jetting all the time from idea to idea, as well as distraction to distraction! 🤦🏼‍♀️⠀

One thing I want to challenge us to do is to begin tracking this ONE change for ONE week...⠀

If it’s 💸, write down every 💵 spent.⠀
If it’s 🏃🏼‍♀️, write down each workout you do.⠀
If it’s 🥗, write everything that you put into your mouth!⠀
If it’s 🤷🏼‍♀️, write down everything you do in a day.⠀
If it’s 📚, write in a calendar each day you get some reading time in!⠀

You will never change your life unless you change something you do daily. The secret to your success is found in your daily routine!⠀

I am overwhelmingly excited about how many of y’all want to know more about crushing debt! ⠀

I never imagined it’d be something I talked much about... but I’ve realized it’s not talked about openly all that much + I want to change that!⠀

Do you love making us dinner every night?⠀

I giggled a little and stared at him for asking me the question. ⠀

I was thinking, "Seriously? You think I absolutely love cooking dinner every night, holding a 30 lb baby on my hip because he HAS to watch momma make the food (ok that part is kinda cute 😍) when I'm pretty darn pooped from a day of work + chasing around a 1 year old?"⠀

But, I just replied, "No, not really, but I know it is what we need every night (healthy meal + family time around the table)." ⠀

Honestly, I wish my mindset was different, but sometimes you just DO + hope your mindset follows!⠀

I heard in a book this question: What shared % of responsibility do you have in making a relationship work. ⠀

I've always thought 100 | 100. You give 100% and the other gives 100%.⠀

But I was wrong. The answer was 100 | 0. We are to give 100% effort with 0 expected in return. I know not everyone will agree with this, but if YOU take on 100% responsibility of making the relationship work, you leave NOTHING to chance. I’m willing to bet on myself (the one I can control).⠀

I’m far from perfect at giving 100% and further from perfect at not keeping “score” of what I do vs. what he does for our family, but I plan to work daily on getting closer to 100 | 0.⠀

I sifted through my closet, one hanger at a time, saying “Nope” “Not this one” “Maybe in a few weeks” to every item I saw.
-
I didn’t expect to fit into them. I was 6 weeks postpartum + those old Nike shorts, nursing tanks + my grandma un**es were treating me quick nicely!
-
But, I knew if I wanted to go out in public ( aka ), wearing my clothes was a goal I was willing to work my b***y off for!
-
So, I started...couldn’t do a push up when I used to do 20 in a row no problem, couldn’t jump without peeing my pants a bit, couldn’t lift much more than 10 lbs + on very little sleep...
-
And, one day turned into one week, then one month, then several months...and those clothes began to feel GOOD on my body again!
-
I’d say my confidence came back, but honestly, it just grew because I proved it was possible for those first time moms, just like I had searched for during my pregnancy!
