I'm sitting in Germany and had the privilege of watching the snowfall over the last 24 hours with some accumulations. The German road crews quickly and professionally handled the situation accordingly...after all, they've done it a long time! Is your company or business prepared for a major winter storm or outage that prevents employees from producing profits? There are great lessons to be learned from the Germans...as well from each other.

The purpose of the National Preparedness Goals document published by the Dept of Homeland Security in accordance with PPD 8 is to Prevent, Protect, Mitigate, Respond, and Recover from natural or man-made disasters. Are we, as a nation, complying with PPD 8? Should we? Hurricane Sandy has a vote!
