Welcome to the Jay Family!!
The Jefferson City School District is excited to announce that Morgan Eye Scott will join the Jefferson City School District as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Jefferson City High School (JCHS).
Scott comes to JC Schools from Williams Woods University where she completed her first year with the women’s basketball team. Prior to William Woods University, Scott completed five successful seasons as the head girls basketball coach at Hickman High School. She revitalized the program, leading the team to a 79-52 overall record after inheriting a program that went 21-55 in the three seasons prior to her arrival.
Under Scott’s leadership, Hickman captured five tournament championships, earned multiple tournament runner-up finishes, and advanced to three district championship games. In 2024, she was named the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) Class 6 District 7 Co-Coach of the Year after guiding the Kewpies to their first 20-win season in seven years.
She also served two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Missouri, where she previously enjoyed an outstanding playing career. As a Tiger, Scott set a program record for three-pointers in a single game when she hit 11 against Auburn as a sophomore. She finished that season by establishing a school record with 112 made threes.
By the end of her career, she led the record books with 367 career three-pointers. She also earned SEC Co-Sixth Woman of the Year honors during the 2012-2013 season.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Scott to Jefferson City High School,” said Jefferson City High School Principal Dr. Deanne Fisher. “Her track record of transforming programs, developing student-athletes, and fostering a culture of excellence makes her an outstanding fit for our district.”
“I am truly honored to be a part of this program and eager to get started,” JCHS Head Girls Basketball Coach Scott said. “My priority is developing complete student-athletes—players who grow in skill, character, and leadership while competing at the highest level they’re capable of.”
