Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness are the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy every day.

At Jack Scott United Karate Studio, we hold these values close—respect, discipline, and honor—and we are especially reminded of one of our own.

We remember Sgt. Alex Van Aalten, one of our black belts, who gave his life in Afghanistan in 2007. His strength, dedication, and service will always be a part of our studio and our legacy.

We are forever grateful to Sgt. Van Aalten and all who made the ultimate sacrifice. ❤️

On April 20th 2007 one of our black belts, Sgt. Alex Van Aalten, was killed in action. Alex is the son of Mrs. Susan Van Aalten, who also earned her black belt at Jack Scott UKS.

Many may not know but the American flag in the blue room was given to us by Alex.

🇺🇸 Alex will not be forgotten. 🇺🇸
