Street Outlaws Cast Members Who Passed Away

Street Outlaws built its following around racers, mechanics and teams willing to push powerful cars to their limits. Over the years, however, the franchise has also lost several people viewers came to know on and off the track.

The first loss came before the show had even premiered. Tyler “Flip” Priddy, one of the original Oklahoma racers chosen for Season 1, died at his Yukon home on May 28, 2013, at 31. Although rumors have circulated for years, his family and the show never publicly confirmed his cause of death.

Seven years later, Christopher “Kentucky” Ellis, the mechanic seen around Midwest Street Cars from 2013 to 2018, was found dead at his Oklahoma City home on September 9, 2020, at 39. A police incident report described his death as an apparent he**in overdose.

In 2022, the franchise suffered two more losses. Veteran racer and Florida auto-shop owner Wayne Smozanek, who competed across No Prep Kings, Mega Cash Days and America’s List, died from COVID-19 complications on February 12 after roughly seven weeks in intensive care. That August, Fastest in America racer Ryan Fellows died at 41 while filming near Las Vegas after his Nissan 240Z lost control, rolled and caught fire.

Nathan “Cali Nate” Schaldach, another Fastest in America racer, died on April 6, 2024, from injuries suffered in a racing crash in Eagle Pass, Texas. Less than three months later, No Prep Kings star Lizzy Musi, its first female event winner, died at 33 after battling stage 4 breast cancer.

The most recent loss came on August 22, 2026, when South Carolina racer Chris “Block” Gordon died at 40 following a crash at KD Motorsports Park in Ohio. The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
