πππ NCQMA Championship Series Race #6 Recap πππ
What an incredible day for GBS Racing as Gage Sizemore brought home a clean sweep of the day with three feature wins and his first-ever Heavy Honda victory! πππ
π Heavy 160
We kicked off the day with the Heavy 160 heat race, where Gage started P4 and wasted no time getting to the front, taking the lead on the opening lap and pulling away for the heat race victory. πͺ
Our good friends at George Kincel Racing put together an impressive run of their own, charging from P5 to P1 in their heat race to earn enough passing points to secure the pole position for the A-Main, with Gage lining up alongside in P2.
When the green flag dropped, George jumped out front while Gage slipped back to fourth. But Gage quickly worked his way through traffic and back into second, setting up an exciting battle between two great friends and competitors. The pair ran nose-to-tail for most of the race, with Gage searching for a way around the leader.
On the final lap, Gage made his move entering the backstretch, cleared George, and completed a thrilling last-lap pass to take the checkered flag! ππ₯

π Heavy Honda
Heavy Honda was a challenge all day as we struggled to find the speed we were looking for.
Starting P4 in the heat race, Gage moved forward early before dropping back in the pack. A late-race charge brought him back into contention, and he crossed the line in P3.
For the A-Main, George Kincel started on the pole with William Shields alongside him, while Gage rolled off from P5.
At the drop of the green, George took the lead, William settled into second, Emma running third, and Gage moving into fourth. Gage quickly worked his way into second, but an intense crossover battle with Emma and William allowed George to build a sizeable advantage out front.
Once Gage finally cleared the battle, he began pulling away from the pack during a long green-flag run. George expertly worked through lap traffic and had every car except Gage a lap down.
Then, around lap 30, disaster struck. A competitor lost a chain and came to a stop exiting Turn 2. George made contact with the disabled car, damaging his front end and bringing out the caution. On the restart, George was unable to get back up to speed, forcing another caution and a trip to the pits for repairs.
That handed the lead to Gage.
With Easton Wedge charging hard behind him over the final laps, Gage stayed calm, hit his marks, and held on for an unexpected but hard-earned victory.

π First Heavy Honda Victory!
While we were fortunate to capitalize on the opportunity, our hearts go out to our friends at George Kincel Racing. They unquestionably had the car to beat all day and deserved a shot at the win. Sometimes racing gives, and sometimes it takes. Their bad luck happened to become our good fortune.

π Heavy World Formula
Heavy World Formula was set by a field draw, and Gage started P3.
It didn't take long for him to work his way to the front, and despite several cautions throughout the raceβincluding engine troubles for Easton WedgeβGage maintained control of the field and never relinquished the lead.
When the checkered flag flew, Gage stood atop the podium once again, with Daniel Bergen bringing home second.
