Notice of Construction at the Sonterra Pool and Amenity Center
Over the next several months, Oncor employees and contractors will be working near the Sonterra Pool and Amenity Center and surrounding facilities as construction begins on nearby electric transmission lines. This work is part of the Salado Switch–Round Rock South Tap 138 kV Line Rebuild, an ERCOT planning project managed by Oncor Electric Delivery. The project is intended to improve the transmission line, address reliability needs and help support the growing demand for electricity in Williamson and Bell Counties.
What Residents Can Expect
Residents may notice changes around the Sonterra Pool and Amenity Center during this work. A large section of fencing surrounding the splash pad will be removed, and some trees, shrubs, and other landscaping may be relocated or permanently removed. Parking lot wheel stops will also be temporarily removed. These changes are necessary because certain facilities at the Sonterra Pool and Amenity Center are located within Oncor’s existing easement and must be removed to allow Oncor to complete its work safely and without obstruction.
Access and Safety
During construction, access to the Sonterra Pool and Amenity Center may be significantly restricted, and operating hours may be limited. The splash pad is expected to be closed during portions of the construction period, and amenity rentals may be suspended. Because heavy equipment will be operating near the Amenity Center and existing high-voltage transmission facilities, public access will be restricted to help protect residents and construction personnel. Please do not enter construction areas or any area enclosed with temporary construction fencing.
Project Timeline and Updates
Oncor’s work near the Sonterra Pool and Amenity Center is expected to take approximately 5 to 7 months, depending on weather and the availability of required supplies. Sonterra MUD will share updates and tentative construction dates on Sonterra MUD’s website and page as the project progresses.
