Thank you to everyone that came out to Fun Night for our awards banquet last night to help celebrate our athletes and the fantastic season we had. We had 23 athletes letter with a season average of 20+! Cody Wiederhoeft and Janessa Carstensen were our Top Male and Female shooters with season averages of 23.5 and 22.1, respectively. Along with their trophies, these two also received one-of-a-kind championship belts! Wyatt Ostgarden was our Most Improved Athlete, increasing his average by 8.8 throughout the season. Kayle Langford was the recipient of the Sportsman’s Award, which is voted upon by our staff and given to an athlete (generally a senior) that always has a positive attitude, willingness to help at various events/activities, and is a role model for younger athletes. This year was the largest group of seniors that we have had participate in a season. Three of the seniors (Evan Olson, Dylan Vasquez, and Cody Wiederhoeft) have participated all 13 seasons (Spring and Fall- no Spring 2020 season due to COVID) that they were able to throughout their Jr High/High School career! We are grateful for the 16 seniors that have dedicated their time and effort throughout the years and wish them luck on their future endeavors! Congratulations to all of our athletes and thank you for a great season!

After wrapping up the season, results have finally been posted! We were able to take 3rd place as a team and had quite a few athletes place in the top 25! For the males- Cody W. finished in 8th and Carter W. finished in 11th. For the females- Janessa C. placed 7th, Maddie L. in 21st, Ella V. in 23rd, and Kayle L. snuck into 25th! Congratulations to everyone, it was a great season! Hope to see everyone Wednesday for Fun Night to celebrate these accomplishments!

Shooter Spotlight!
This week’s shooters of the week are Kadin Juliar, Leighlan Harris, Cameron Hermel, and Reagan Larson!

Kadin Juliar is a senior at St. Clair in his 4th year on the team with a personal best of 50/50! After graduation, he is still undecided on what he wants to do. Kadin decided to join trap because his friends told him about it and it sounded fun. Other than trap, he enjoys airsoft and gaming. Kadin’s advice to new shooters would be to take your time and practice. His most memorable moment was when he shot his 50 straight.

Leighlan Harris is a 10th grader at JWP. In his two years on the team, his personal best is 48/50! He decided to join the team because it’s fun. His ultimate trap shooting goal would be to shoot 50/50. Other than trap, he enjoys hunting and other sports. Leighlan’s most memorable moment has been making the top 10 shooters list!

Cameron Hermel is a 9th grader at JWP in his second year on the team. So far, his personal best is 35/50! An interesting fact about Cameron is that he is the youngest of 8 kids, having three brothers and 4 sisters. Other than trap, he enjoys hunting and fishing. His most memorable moment has been having his family come to watch him shoot.

Reagan Larson is a 6th grader at St. Clair. So far in her first year on the team, her personal best is 31/50! Some interesting facts about Reagan are that she likes spaghetti, archery, received a medal for participating in a marathon, and her favorite animal is a wolf. Her ultimate trap shooting goal would be to get somewhere around 40/50. Reagan’s most memorable moment has been hitting 24 clay targets.

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the season! The weather was great and the scores were even better! Congratulations to Cody Wiederhoeft on 50 straight and Trendin Lotton and Carter Wiederhoeft on 25 straight!

After week 4, we continue to close the gap to 3rd place, with less than 400 points separating us! This is the last week to get there! We still have a few athletes in the top 25 in our conference. For males- Carter and Cody W. are tied in 12th, Kadin J. is in 18th, and Huntly L. in 25th. For females- Janessa C. is in 9th, Maddie L. in 19th, and Ella V. moved in to 22nd. Congratulations all and keep up the great shooting!

Nine athletes attended another tournament, this time in Montgomery, earlier today. Lots of great scores were put up, but it was tough competition. Henry Dauk was able to earn a 25 straight patch and a medal. Congratulations to those that attended!
