A MAN’S EGO ISN’T REVEALED WHEN EVERYONE AGREES WITH HIM.

It’s revealed when someone challenges what he believes.

Challenge his politics.
Challenge his faith.
Challenge the way he interprets Scripture.
Challenge something he’s believed his entire life.

Then watch what happens.

Some men get angry.

Some attack the person instead of discussing the issue.

Some shut down.

Some walk away.

Some avoid the conversation completely because questioning the belief feels like questioning THEM.

But there’s another option.

A mature man can stay in the room.

He can listen without surrendering his convictions.

He can ask questions without feeling weak.

He can say, “Maybe I need to think about that.”

He can disagree without disrespecting.

And he can examine whether what he believes actually lines up with the man—and follower of Jesus—he says he wants to be.

That takes strength.

Your political beliefs are not your identity.

Your religious label is not your identity.

And having your beliefs challenged does not make you less of a man.

Sometimes the strongest thing a man can do is put his ego down long enough to have the conversation.

CALM the CHAOS.

Then COMMUNICATE with CLARITY.
