I get this question from children and adults quite a bit. So share with your kids the info please. Shout out to Tim Anderson for posting this. 💕😊

At what age do you start giving kids chores to do? Generally the chores are age appropriate and build up to the child getting a job and learning to be a productive member of society. Here is my chore to training comparison. 8-12 year old child should be helping with basic house cleaning, taking out the trash, helping fold clothes. At 13-16 those chores get harder, washing dishes, cutting the grass, washing the car, vacuuming. At 16 a child is old enough to go out and get a job working for a company doing all sorts of things except for operating heavy machinery. At 18 a person can operate power tools as part of their job, at 21 can have most any job and some at a pretty high level. Now if you compare that to a maturing horse between 1 & 2 a horse should stand for vet and farrier work, at 2 take a saddle and carry appropriate weight, 2 1/2 work with that weight, 3 doing significant maneuvers with that weight, at 4 working at a pretty high level. Now we all know some kids mature slower or faster that others as do horses so this is not a hard and fast rule. When a kids at any age start getting bored and getting into things I'm going to give him something to do and the same is true for a horse.
