Big thanks to our board members for organizing such a fun day, our grilling team for keeping everyone fed, our guards for keeping us safe and everyone who joined in the activities! We loved seeing so many families come together to celebrate!

This Saturday is the big day! Evelyn is hosting a FREE tennis clinic with Coach Robbie to pack the Pet Pantries as part of her Gold Award Project. There are time slots for all ages from 8a-noon.

We'd love for you to join us. The entry is simply pet supplies (food, leashes, bowls, collars, treats, toys).

Celebrate the end of summer Cedarwood-style with one last epic pool party! We’re combining our Labor Day Cookout with the 3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta for a fun-filled afternoon of food, competition, and community.
🎧 DJ Shawn Freeman will be spinning tunes poolside from 12:00pm – 4:00pm to keep the energy high!

Labor Day Cookout
As summer draws to a close, we invite you to join us for our annual Labor Day Cookout. This is our last big event of the season, and we’re going all out to make it a memorable day for everyone. Come celebrate with friends and family, enjoy delicious food, and soak up the final rays of summer sunshine.
Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this fantastic end-of-summer event!
Cookout Buffet Opens @ 12:00 PM

We will begin serving for the cookout at 12:00 PM and end around 1:00 PM. After everyone has gone through once, you are welcome to come back for seconds.
Location: Clubhouse
Cedarwood will provide: Juicy hamburgers, delicious all-beef hot dogs, fresh buns, and all the fixings!
We kindly ask members to bring sides/desserts/drinks according to their last name:
A – F: Desserts
G – S: Side dishes (hot or cold)
T – Z: A bag of chips and 2L drinks & Homemade Punch/Lemonade
Home-Made Dish Challenge:

We encourage our members to get creative and prepare homemade or inventive side dishes, drinks, and desserts. The Cedarwood Board will be serving the meal, and anyone wishing to enter the contest can fill out a form when dropping off their item. The final options will be judged by the board, and the winner will receive a $50 Gift Card! Winner to be announced via email.
3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta
We will host our 3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta on Labor too!
Cardboard Boat Regatta Races:
Races Start Time: 3:00 PM (2:30pm Boat Judging)
Age Groups:
9 & Under
10-13
14 & Up (adults welcome in this category)
Cash Prizes for Fastest Times:
$50 Gift Card awarded to 1st Place (Fastest Time) in each Age Category
Cardboard Boats must be brought ready to race, built in advance with your materials…see list of approved options below…
Timing:
2:30 PM: Have Boats Ready Lined up at shallow end of pool for Boat Judging
3:00 PM: Races Start – Youngest Age Group First
Prohibited Materials:
Metal, Styrofoam, Plastic, Shrink Wrap, Nails, Stickers, Staples, Wood Fasteners, Flex Seal, Flotation devices, Vinyl, Rubber, Cans, Inflation devices, Real Paddles, Anything used to provide buoyancy – All boats will be inspected prior to the race; any illegal items will lead to disqualification
Teams:
1-3 members per team to make the boat; but only up to 2 people can be in the boat during the race
Teams are encouraged to dress up according to the theme of their boat for the Spirit Award
Cardboard Boat Design:
Boats can be of any length or height, design is builder’s choice
Paddles must meet the same construction requirements as the boats
All boats will be inspected prior to the race; any illegal items will lead to disqualification
No modifications allowed after passing inspection
Teams must remove any leftover boat debris from the pool
No sabotaging other boats; any rough housing will lead to disqualification
Boats must be propelled by arms or CARDBOARD ONLY paddles
No raft or surfboard styles
Race Course:
Start at the shallow end of pool; go the full length and turn around back to start
Judges may divide entrants into heats depending on the number of vessels

Our lifeguards are some of the best around. For the 2nd year in a row the guards took home Gold from Aquatics Lifeguard Olympics. We brought 2 teams this year & the other team took 3rd. The guards have done a fabulous job of keeping the pool safe & clean this summer. The board will be hosting a lunch for them soon to thank them fora wonderful summer. If you would like to contribute to a gifts for them the QR code is in the comments. Be sure to thank the guards before some of them leave for college soon.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the lifeguard’s Appreciation Lunch. The guards enjoyed their turn to relax & use the pool.

Also today Aquatech hosted Lifeguard Olympics. We had a great group representing Cedarwood. They made us very proud by bringing home the gold too.
