Frontrunners Rhode Island A gregarious LGBTQ running and walking group. We meet Mondays and Thursdays at 6pm, and Saturdays at 9am, at the north end of Blackstone Blvd.

We race the Cape Cod marathon annually, finishing among the top teams, and our runners have placed in the Memorial Day Marathon 5K, half-marathon and marathon in Lenox, MA. We provide hosted housing for visiting Frontrunners, and enjoy carbo-loading before, and celebratory eating after r

unning events. Meeting Times/Locations
Thursdays at 6PM, we run 5 Miles (and our Frontwalkers walk about 3), meeting at the intersection of Hope Street and Blackstone Boulevard on the east side of Providence. Walkers do an out and back along the Boulevard path, and runners head down the path to Richmond Square and along the River before returning to the starting point. We usually have dinner at a casual restaurant at around 7PM. If you're new to the area, or just want to get in shape while making some great new friends, you're welcome to join us. Frontrunners RI will be collaborating with Boston Legacy FC for a Pride Run, Walk, and Bike to the stadium ahead of Boston Legacy's Pride Match on Sunday, August 9th. Participants will meet at 2:00 PM at Blackstone blvd & Alfred Stone rd and follow a 1-mile route to the stadium. After the walk, run, or ride, enjoy the pre-match energy at Centreville Bank Stadium before kickoff at 4:00 PM.

Adherents say there are many benefits to the run/walk method—it’s easier on the body, makes recovery quicker, conserves energy and adds a brain break to long runs. And with diligence, it can even lead to a Boston Qualifying marathon time.
