🌳 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN: McELROY PARK RENOVATION | PHASE I

As we continue highlighting Tier 2 projects included in JPRD’s Capital Improvement Plan, we’re taking a closer look at the future of McElroy Park.

McElroy Park Renovation Phase I would begin implementing priority improvements identified through the McElroy Park Master Plan, with a focus on making the park more connected, welcoming and functional for the many ways our community uses it.

Proposed improvements identified in the master plan include reforestation, trails, community gathering areas, playgrounds, parking and reorganizing existing park uses. Together, these updates would improve circulation and connectivity while creating new opportunities for recreation and gathering throughout the park.

This project is part of a larger plan shaped by community input and focused on strategically reinvesting in Jamestown’s parks and recreation system for the future.

We’re just a few days away from an evening of fall fun at Klaus Park!

Join us Saturday, September 26 from 4:00–8:00pm for JPRD’s Fall Festival and enjoy an evening filled with activities for the whole family.

We want to find out!

Local businesses and organizations are invited to participate in JPRD’s 4th Annual Festival of Trees by sponsoring and decorating a tree, wreath or table centerpiece.

Your creation will become part of the holiday display at the Bunker for the community to enjoy December 2–3 and will be included in the silent auction during our Wine & Cheese Social on December 4.

It’s a great opportunity to get your team involved, show off your creativity and support the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Foundation at the same time!

Has your child been looking for something new to try? Wrestling might be it! 🤼

This October, kids in grades K–5 can hit the mat at TRAC and discover the sport of wrestling in a fun and supportive setting. They’ll learn the basics while working on balance, coordination, strength and confidence—and maybe discover a new sport they love!

Youth Co-Ed Wrestling is open to boys and girls, from complete beginners to kids who already have some experience.

This position works closely with our Finance & HR department and is a great fit for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology and enjoys keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Signs will be posted on the grass in areas that have been treated. Please watch for these signs and avoid sprayed areas for the remainder of the day.

🎃🍂 RACING. GAMES. PUMPKINS. S’MORES. YES, PLEASE!

JPRD’s Fall Festival is coming to Klaus Park on September 26, and we’re packing four hours with family-friendly fall fun!

From our pint-sized Power Wheels racers taking the track to games, music and activities throughout the park, there will be plenty happening before the evening ends with a glowing Pumpkin Walk and s’mores around the fire.

Bring the family and come experience Jamestown’s newest fall tradition!

Park hours are in place to help keep our parks safe, protect park property and be considerate of nearby neighborhoods. When it’s closing time, please wrap up your activities, gather your belongings and plan to visit us again another day!

If you notice activity in a park after hours, please report it to the appropriate authorities.
