Let’s talk about recovery.

Everyone sees the workout.
Everyone sees the sweat.
Everyone sees the commitment.

What they don’t always see are the sore muscles, aching joints, stiffness, and the recovery that has to happen in between.

This picture is exactly why I don’t put a lot of stock into “overnight success” stories.

A year separates these two photos.

Not a detox.
Not a 30-day challenge.
Not a magic supplement.
Not motivation.

A year.

A year of showing up when you don’t feel like it.
A year of lifting when the scale isn’t moving.
A year of making choices nobody applauds.
A year of fighting the mental battle that nobody sees.

The truth is, there are days I teach “trust the process” and then have to turn around and preach it to myself.

Because some days I look in the mirror and all I can see is what hasn’t changed yet.

Some days I wonder if all the workouts, all the meal prep, all the cardio, all the early mornings are making a difference.

And then I look at pictures like this.

The difference isn’t just in my body.

It’s in my discipline.
It’s in my consistency.
It’s in my strength.
It’s in my mindset.

As someone who was once over 400 pounds, had gastric bypass surgery over 20 years ago, lives with lymphedema, and is still working on her health today, I can tell you this:

The journey doesn’t end.

You don’t arrive.

You keep choosing yourself over and over again.

Some days with confidence.
Some days with tears.
Some days simply because quitting is no longer an option.

If you’re in a season where you’re doing all the right things and the results seem slow, keep going.

The body will eventually tell the story of what your habits have been saying all along.

Trust me.

I know what it feels like to put in the work and wonder if it’s worth it.

So one of my clients tried to negotiate her cardio…

AFTER she had already finished her workout. 🤣

Client: “Coach, do I really have to do the cardio?”

Me: “Did the workout say cardio?”

Client: “Yes…”

Me: “Then why are we having this conversation?” 😂😂😂

Listen, I love y’all, but where do y’all think this negotiation table is located? Because it is definitely not in my gym. 💀

The funny thing is, the things we try to skip are often the very things that help us reach our goals.

Sometimes it’s the cardio.
Sometimes it’s the water.
Sometimes it’s the protein.
Sometimes it’s just showing up when we don’t feel like it.

No negotiations, Diva. We finish what we start. 💪

Most fitness professionals show before-and-after photos.

What they don’t always show are the months in between.

The missed workouts.
The stressful weeks.
The vacations.
The emotional eating.
The weekends that didn’t go as planned.

Life happens.

That’s why I don’t focus on before-and-after pictures.

I focus on helping women stay in the game.

This client started in July 2025 and here’s what happened by May 2026:

💪 Weight: 165 lbs → 154 lbs
💪 Body Fat: 39.0% → 36.4%
💪 Lean Mass: 58.2% → 60.6%
💪 Visceral Fat: 82.4 cm² → 59.4 cm²
💪 Waist: 34.3 inches → 32.0 inches
💪 BMI: 29.2 → 27.3

The scale shows an 11-pound loss.

But the real victory?

✔️ Less body fat
✔️ More lean muscle
✔️ Less visceral fat surrounding the organs
✔️ A smaller waistline
✔️ Improved overall health markers

That’s what happens when you keep showing up.

Not perfectly.

Consistently.

Happy June 1st from Size Healthy Fitness 💜💛

We are officially halfway through the year.

For some women, this may feel exciting because you have been showing up, staying consistent, and doing the work.

For others, this may feel heavy because you know you have been putting yourself last, starting and stopping, or waiting for the “right time” to take your health seriously.

Either way, I want you to hear this from my heart:

Your health matters.

Not just your weight.
Not just your workouts.
Not just what the scale says.

Your energy matters.
Your confidence matters.
Your strength matters.
Your peace matters.
Your ability to move, breathe, live, and feel good in your body matters.

At Size Healthy Fitness, I believe women deserve more than quick fixes. We deserve support, accountability, education, encouragement, and tools that help us take better care of the body God gave us.
