Jacksonville Speedway Hall of Fame This page is to promote the history of racing held at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Jacksonville. Past and Present - Wayne Stearns Track Historian

I have traced racing at this track back to 1949. When COVID hit I had to stop searching Jacksonville Journal Courier archives. I plan to start again sometime this winter. I have started compiling a list of every driver. My list is over 2,500 and I am sure I haven't come close to finishing this.

We return to racing this Friday Night June 19th with 410 Sprints, 305 Sprints, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Sportsman. Make plans to join us for a great Friday Night. Just 2 more shows before our annual break for the Fair!

Our race for Friday June 12th is cancelled due to all of the rain we have received over the past few days and are currently getting now (Thurs Night).

The track and pits were pretty much already too wet after getting nearly 3 inches overnight without much drying today, but we though we would wait to see if we actually got the downpour they were predicting tonight. We most certainly did! There's no way we will be able to do any track work until late tomorrow afternoon at the earliest and no way we could use the grassy areas in the pits for race team parking. It was a swamp already.

Please make sure you tell the older fans you encounter Friday who might not be on social media. The weather Friday is going to be nice and many will probably unfortunately make the trip.

This Friday Night we return to our regular season schedule with ILMO Propane night featuring 410 Sprints, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsman and MIcros.

Just $15 adult admission, $5 for ages 11-18 with kids 10 and under Free.
