Nominations for the Jacksonville Progress’ Reader’s Choice competition closes Wednesday, Aug. 26. To make nominations for everything from Best Barbecue to Best Western Wear store, visit https://jdpcontests.secondstreetapp.com/Jacksonville-Progress-Readers-Choice-2026.

Once nominations are compiled, official voting for the Best of the Best will begin Saturday, Aug. 29, and run through Wednesday, Sept. 16. A paper ballot will be available in the newsprint edition Wednesday, Sept. 9. All paper ballots must be received by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Anyone may vote for our Readers' Choice awards completely free, regardless of method.

Once the contest closes, votes will be tallied and the winners of the 2026 Readers' Choice contest will be announced in a special edition of our Cherokee County Living magazine.

All decisions of the Jacksonville Progress are final.
