The Dirtbags won the gold bracket in the Perfect Game SEC Softball Triangle Summer Nationals in Cary last weekend. While they got off to a slow start, that didn’t stop them from landing the #2 seed in the gold bracket. The team finished 5-1 for the weekend.

Our pitching staff was 🔥, only allowing 12 runs in 6 games (6 earned) combining for an ERA of 1.33. Caelyn Price threw a complete game 1 hitter in the first bracket game. In the championship game, Kinley Jarman and Price combined for a 7 inning shutout, striking out 10 and only walking one.

Lola Jones (.500) and Taylor Hand (.467) led the team in hitting. Scarlett Maurer had an in-the-park homerun in the winner’s bracket final and Hand delivered a walk off triple in the championship in extra innings to seal the win, 1-0.

It was a great weekend to be a Dirtbag! The girls will be back at it June 27 at Rocky Mount Sports Complex.

Dirtbags Coastal battled this past weekend at the NC USSSA Girls Love Diamonds tournament in Cary, NC.

After a 1-1 start in pool play, the girls turned it on in bracket play with back-to-back wins, 11-4 and 10-4, to fight their way into Championship Sunday.

Unfortunately, the bats cooled off on Sunday as we came up just short in two tough games, 3-2 and 5-3, to finish 3rd overall.

Back at it May 30-31 in Winterville, NC for the PGF Pirate Classic. 🏴‍☠️🥎
