Jumpin' Jax traveled to St Pete for ARU's Peace Love Fireworks tournament. We took one team and had a great time with our tiny group. Our dogs did well, and our newest boy, Tarot, had a very successful warm up. He is going to make a great addition to the team. He is smart, biddable, and very sweet as well as handsome!
Our boy Joker ran perfectly in start, he is so dependable and consistent. Lynx was almost perfect, only having a bobble or two. He is steady and consistent, he loves the game SO much! Ripley ran part time Sat and was perfect. He gave a couple of races to Scarlett, who is getting a little older and tires after two or three races. She is a great dog, dependable, and happy. Razz was our number 5 dog and she is a wild girl! She is fast, vocal, and crazy about her tug! Razz was perfect this weekend and ran for another handler twice as her mom had to run Scarlett. She kept her eye on her mom but did her job and played tug with a new handler. So proud of this girl! Last but not least we filled the roster with Paislee, our doodle. Paislee has really come into her own as a Flyball dog making her mom so proud. She is excited to play, runs hard and flawlessly! She is a steady, dependable, happy girl who really does love the game!
Sunday, Ringer split with Scarlett. He has struggled getting started in Flyball, not wanting to leave his handler unless he saw the dog in the other lane; then he takes off, making his whole run inconsistent and hard to predict. We put him in the anchor spot and he actually only hesitated slightly as he left. He was putting up decent times even with the hesitation. I feel like we are on the right track and he will improve with experience. He has a lovely turn and he carries a ball, although taking his toy after a run id sometimes challenging! Baby dogs! We had our puppies, Motive and Smidge along for the experience, and they were so good! They did mat time on Friday and Saturday lunch. They were amazing! Staying on task and working hard for their tugs! We did recalls to tugs and ball to tug games. They both did really amazing! I'm excited to see these awesome pups grow up and become fabulous sport dogs! Not many pictures, but we have a couple videos of the pups.
