What a night to remember! ⚾️

Mother Nature tried to throw us a curveball with a few rain delays, but nothing could stop this crew from having a GREAT time! ☔️

85 Adaptive Sports & Recreation all-stars, along with friends, family, and staff, stepped up to the plate for an unforgettable night at the ballpark!

The weather may have been wet, but the crowd was in championship form as we cheered on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to a 2–0 shutout victory over the Gwinnett Stripers in their final home game of the season! 🎉

And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better… We wrapped it up with a grand slam of a fireworks show that truly knocked it out of the park!🎆💥

September is Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Awareness Month! 💙

This month, we’re celebrating the strength, resilience, and accomplishments of the SCI community while raising awareness about life after spinal cord injury.

⭐️We’re also excited to highlight an upcoming opportunity to connect and learn!

The SCI Health Research Partnership (Brooks & UF-PHHHP Collaboration) will host its Annual SCI Event on September 24th, bringing together members of the SCI community, clinicians, and partners.♿️

MARK YOUR CALENDAR! 🗓️ 📣

The CAF 2027 Annual Grant Program opens September 28 and closes November 13, a 7-week application window!

🏅 The program provides funding for athletes with physical disabilities, including adaptive sports equipment, training, competition expenses, and more.

📝 New eligibility requirements are in place for 2027, so now is the time to prepare! Gather your medical verification, financial documentation, and letters of recommendation before applications open.

⏰ This is a highly competitive program, so mark your calendar and apply early!

Some of our Brooks Bandits Wheelchair Rugby players traveled to Philly to compete in a Low-Point Tournament alongside members of the Maryland Mayhem Wheelchair Rugby team. Together, they took the court as the Brooks & Friends Turtles! 🐢

Players gained valuable experience, made new connections, and most importantly, had a great time competing!

We’re proud of our Bandits for stepping outside their comfort zone, embracing the challenge, and representing Brooks on the road! 💙🏐

Throw🔙 to Adaptive Sports Daytona at the ballpark! ⚾️

This summer, 50 of our Adaptive Sports Daytona participants had the opportunity to attend a Daytona Tortugas professional baseball game!

One lucky participant, Mitchell, even had the chance to throw out the first pitch!

Shoutout to all the furry friends who make such a positive impact in the lives of our patients and participants! From trained guide dogs to emotional support and therapy animals, these incredible companions provide comfort, confidence, independence, and unconditional love. 🐕‍🦺💙

Reaching New Heights 🧗

Our Adaptive Sports JAX participants took on the climbing wall this past Saturday for an incredible day of adventure and fun!

We hope everyone enjoyed the experience, challenged themselves, and discovered new possibilities!

A huge thank you to Catalyst Sports and Stone Climbing for helping make this adaptive climbing experience possible.

We’re already looking forward to the next one!⭐️
