📣 **Practice Schedule Update**
We want to acknowledge that we understand the frustration with not having an updated practice schedule yet. We know coaches and parents are trying to plan ahead, and we truly appreciate your patience while we work through the current scheduling challenges.
When the original game schedule was released, we brought a concern to the County because we were seeing very limited practice availability. At that point, we had only about one to two Monday–Thursday openings per week, with most weeks having only one, along with our regular Friday availability from 5:30–9:00. This was not enough time for practices.
The County has since made some adjustments and shifted games around, which has opened up a couple of additional time slots each week. We appreciate them working with us. Part of the reason more games were scheduled at our fields was to help with concession fundraising and reduce travel for our families, especially after previous concerns from parents were that we didn't have a fair opportunity to raise funds because we had very few home games. We understand that those changes can have a direct impact on practice availability as well.
With 17 teams, not including T-Ball Minors, we have to balance the needs of the entire league. We know everyone’s first priority is their own team, but our responsibility is to make sure we are being as fair as possible to all of our teams. This meant holding off on scheduling practices until we could accommodate all teams.
We have continued to work on securing Saturday opportunities and/or another practice location to give us some additional flexibility. Other leagues have more field availability because they have access to four fields, while we are working with significantly less space. This is why they already have a practice schedule.
On top of that, we are currently dealing with lighting issues on the fields. One entire light pole is out, and another is only working intermittently. This has already caused games on Field 2 to be canceled because of the safety concerns, and with daylight getting shorter, lighting will become an even bigger factor.
Please know that we are actively working behind the scenes and have not forgotten about practices. We expect to have an updated practice schedule by this weekend.
Unfortunately, there will not be much wiggle room in the schedule.
We know this isn't the perfect situation, and we understand the frustration. We are doing everything we can with the field space and resources available to us while trying to make decisions that work for **the entire league**, not just one team.
