Chris Rodriguez Jr. has spent most of his NFL career buried on the depth chart. Then everything changed 🔄

After Brian Robinson Jr. was traded, Austin Ekeler dealt with an injury and Jacory Croskey-Merritt became less efficient, Rodriguez finally got his shot, taking over as Washington’s starter in Week 10 and recording double-digit carries in each of his final five games.

The biggest question is his involvement as a receiver, as Washington barely used him in that role, with just six career receptions in 35 games. But now he gets a fresh start in Jacksonville.

Rodriguez reunites with his former college coach Liam Coen and enters a backfield alongside Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen.

Tuten has the clearest path to being the fantasy leader because of his receiving ability, but Rodriguez could carve out a valuable role as the bigger, more efficient runner, especially around the goal line.

If Jacksonville’s offense lives up to its potential, there could be enough fantasy production for two RBs to matter.

Rodriguez isn’t the guy you draft expecting to start Week 1, he’s the guy you draft late hoping the workload finds him 👀💰

The Jacksonville Jaguars enter 2026 looking to build on a very encouraging first season under Liam Coen.

Jacksonville went 13-4 and won the division in 2025, showing significant improvement despite some inconsistency along the way. The season ultimately ended against Buffalo in the Wild Card Round, leaving the Jaguars looking for another step forward this year.

The defense also had a solid season, with Foyesade Oluokun once again leading the way in tackles.

Here were the Jaguars' total tackles leaders during the 2025 season:

💚 Foyesade Oluokun — 143 tackles (69 solo)
🖤 Andrew Wingard — 84 tackles (45 solo)
💚 Devin Lloyd — 81 tackles (35 solo)
🖤 Antonio Johnson — 58 tackles (37 solo)
💚 Eric Murray — 54 tackles (32 solo)
🖤 Montaric Brown — 51 tackles (43 solo)
💚 Jarrian Jones — 49 tackles (35 solo)
🖤 Josh Hines-Allen — 49 tackles (28 solo)
💚 Dennis Gardeck — 48 tackles (28 solo)

Foyesade Oluokun finished well ahead of the rest of the group with 143 total tackles and also led Jacksonville with 69 solo stops.

There will be some changes around him in 2026. Andrew Wingard and Devin Lloyd, who ranked second and third on this list, both departed in free agency.

Still, several familiar pieces return as Jacksonville looks to improve on last year's success. After winning 13 games and the division in Liam Coen's first season, the next challenge is turning that progress into a deeper postseason run.

The Jaguars officially have two guys named BTJ on their roster this year.

When undrafted rookie defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. made the 53-man roster, he joined wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

On top of sharing a name, both played in the SEC and both have the number 7 on their jersey:

CBS Sports is predicting the historic two-way season everyone has been waiting for from Travis Hunter.

After playing only seven games as a rookie, Hunter is projected to record 1,000+ receiving yards and at least four interceptions in 2026.

That would make him the first NFL player since Don Hutson in 1942 to reach both marks in the same season, putting Hunter in truly rare territory.

There’s been plenty of talk that Travis Hunter will focus almost entirely on defense for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2026.

But head coach Liam Coen just pumped the brakes on that idea.

Coen made it clear: Hunter’s offensive chapter isn’t over.

“Not so fast. Let’s pump the brakes,” Coen said, emphasizing that Hunter is a playmaker the Jaguars still want to get the ball to.

The biggest priority right now is getting Hunter fully back from the serious injury that cut short his rookie season. The Jaguars don’t want to rush him or overload him before he’s ready.

But once he’s healthy:

🔸Defense will likely be his primary focus.

🔸Offense is still very much in the plans.

🔸And Jacksonville wants opposing teams to have to prepare for ALL of Travis Hunter.

Remember, Hunter played 324 offensive snaps and 162 defensive snaps in 2025, plus three on special teams.

So while he may not be playing equal snaps on both sides this year, Coen clearly isn’t ready to put the “two-way” label to bed.

If Hunter can stay healthy…Jacksonville might still have one of the most unique weapons in the entire NFL.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lock in the No. 9 spot on PFF's 2026 defensive line rankings! Jacksonville's front four continues to be driven by star edge defender Josh Hines-Allen, who is coming off a career-high 95 total pressures in 2025 and his third consecutive season with an 80.0+ PFF pass-rush grade.

Opposite him, former No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker continues his steady upward trajectory, posting a career-best 68.1 PFF grade last season to give Jacksonville a formidable bookend edge tandem. 🐆🎷
