In addition to our fundraising to support meaningful trips for Alzheimer's patients/caregivers, as well as our soon to be announced research partnership, we try to help raise awareness about the disease and answers questions that folks may have.

One that came up today was about brain donations to support research. Yes, it is not something pleasant to talk about. But, it is critical to supporting researchers who are trying to find ways to treat and cure this disease. It is the ultimate gift from an Alzheimer's patient and their family as it is a gift that will help others into the future.

There are numerous websites with information about how to give this gift. And different organizations have options for healthy brains as well as those with an Alzheimer's or other dementia diagnosis.

Start making your plans to race with us at the Endurance Karting Race to End Alz! This exciting karting race will occur 11-12 December, at the 103rd Street Sports Complex in Jacksonville, Florida.

We have a new race length this year, and we will be racing for 12 hours (instead of our previous 6). Endurance Karting provides everything you need to race...kart, safety equipment etc. And, if you want to gain track time and experience, they hold karting schools the day before the race (Basic and Advanced).

We need your help more than ever to raise money for our Alzheimer's programs! In addition to Racing for Memories, we are kicking off a research focused initiative in the coming days. This event will be huge for us in raising money to support both of those!

While we are working on the formal announcement of our newest focus area and partner, I'm proud to say that we have set a new course for the future of our small nonprofit.

In addition to our travel program for Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers, we are adding a VERY significant and direct link to research that is being done with respect to the disease. This means that your donations will directly fund the doctors, scientists, and researchers working at the forefront of medical science to understand the disease, treat it, and cure it.

By working these two parallel paths, we are focusing on the now (those who suffer from Alzheimer's) and the later (a world without the disease). This is an exciting time for us, but there is a lot of work ahead. Expect a lot of news soon though!

At the same time that we set the course for the future, we are extremely thankful to our partners at the Alzheimer's Association, Central/North Florida and the Alzheimer's Association nationally. That partnership enabled us to raise $45K through their The Longest Day and Do What You Love to End ALZ programs over the last few years. The Association is a tremendous organization, and it is doing great work to raise awareness about the disease and help support those with it. Our closing of that relationship is bittersweet, and we will miss all of the great people that we have worked with.

This new mission better aligns with my personal goals when I started End Alzheimer's Racing/Motorsports, and is an evolution in our organizational growth. I am really excited about what we are doing and can't wait to let everyone know.

Final Figures and Kicking Off a New Fundraising Year

We raised $8008 this year for Do What You Love to End ALZ Do What You Love to End ALZ Central & North Florida Chapter, well exceeding our goal! Thank you so much to all who donated and spread the word to get us to that number! Your generosity and help in fighting Alzheimer's disease is greatly appreciated. During our short existence, we have raised well over $40,000 to fight the disease and we are immensely proud of that.

A new year has started for that campaign, and we are proud to support it for the 7th straight year. It will run in parallel to our in house Racing for Memories program (currently 50% of our initial fundraising goal has been met), so pick one (or both) to donate to!

This is certainly a bit of good news with regards to the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

A real world study suggests found that more than three-quarters of participants receiving the anti-amyloid drug Leqembi either remained clinically stable or improved by one disease stage.
