We need to address a growing problem.
There has been a significant increase in members and guests ignoring basic range rules and common courtesy. Almost daily, trash is being left on benches, target frames are being left out, and brass is being left behind. When that happens, another member or staff has to clean up so the next person can use the range.
That is not acceptable.
We have also had recent damage to club property. Within the last two weeks, nearly all of the .22 targets were destroyed by being shot with centerfire rounds. This was not something a person could miss while shooting.
In addition, one of the plate racks in the pistol bay was damaged this weekend and now needs repair. Several .223/5.56 cases were also found in the pistol bay, and chunks were knocked off the plate rack frame.
If you caused this damage, you knew you were damaging club equipment. Please contact Rangemaster Jim to arrange payment for the damage.
This range depends on members acting like responsible adults. Clean up your trash. Pick up your brass. Put target frames away. Follow caliber and target rules. Treat club property with respect.
When we all chip in and act responsibly, we get to keep range costs low. At many ranges of this caliber, people might expect to pay fifty dollars a month or even one hundred dollars a month. Our dues are one hundred fifty dollars for the entire year. That only works because ninety nine percent of our members are good people who do the right thing. Thank you for that.
Going forward, the range will be monitored more closely. If damage is found, video will be reviewed and the responsible party will be identified. The board will take appropriate action.
If anyone saw who damaged the targets or equipment, please contact the Range Master. If you do not want to report them, then address it directly with the person responsible.
To the small number of members causing these problems: do better. This club only works if members take care of it.
To the many members who already do: thank you. Please keep it up.
