Thinking about joining girls high school wrestling this season?

Now’s the time! 💙💛

If you’ve ever been curious about the sport — or just want to challenge yourself, get stronger, and be part of something awesome — swing by the High School office and talk to Mrs. Henschel. She’ll get you all signed up and answer any questions you have.

The season kicks off in mid‑November, and the work starts now.

Let’s build something big together. 💪🔥

Girls high school wrestling continues to explode across the country. Participation reached a record 88,771 athletes during the 2025–26 season, a 19.9% increase in just one year, while 8,853 schools now sponsor the sport. Since 2021–22, participation has grown from 31,654 to 88,771, showing just how quickly girls wrestling has become one of the fastest-growing high school sports in America.

Wrestling season is almost here — let’s go, Lady Owls! 🦉💙❤️

We’ve got a fun, hardworking group of returning girls this year, and every season we welcome new faces as our program continues to grow. If your athlete has ever thought about giving wrestling a try, the Slinger Red Rhinos youth club (K–8) is the perfect place to start.

📅 Season Details
Practices typically run December–March
Held a couple days a week
Hosted at the Slinger High School mezz
Great for beginners and experienced wrestlers

📝 How to Join
Sign up to enroll with the Red Rhinos. A USA Wrestling card is required — it’s your wrestler’s membership and proof of insurance for tournaments.

🏆 Local Tournament Opportunities
The Rhinos usually host two tournaments each season (January & February)
Plenty of beginner‑friendly events in the area
Our girl moms have coordinated trips to girls‑only tournaments for 5+ years
Brown Deer All‑Girls Tournament (K–12) happens in March — we plan to attend again for the third year in a row

If you have questions, please reach out — we’re always happy to help new families get started. 💪

In addition to this registration, each wrestler must also obtain a 2026-27 USA Wrestling Membership (Cost: $60).  The USA Wrestling Membership can be obtained by visiting https://www.usawmembership.com/memberships.  This Membership is required prior to attending Rhino Practices.

Tailgate is officially underway! 🎉🔥

Slinger Girls Wrestling is out here getting hyped, grilling, and gearing up to hit the field and throw out that first pitch.

We’re parked in the Yount parking lot between sections 1 & 2, 4 rows up from the bridge, on the end between Uecker 1 and Yount1. Easy to find, just look for the crew and the Slinger gear.

Come hang out, grab some food, and get ready for a great day on the field! 💙🥎

Due to the rain, our carwash and drying fundraiser is canceled for today.

We’re grateful to Goeman's Rapid Mart and Uncle Larry's Kitchen for hosting us and supporting Slinger Girls Wrestling.

Slinger Community — it’s game time!

This Sunday at the 1:10 PM Milwaukee Brewers game, our Slinger Girls Wrestling Team takes the field for a special recognition… and Brianna Gehring will be throwing out the first pitch!

If you haven’t grabbed your tickets yet, you’ve still got time. Let’s pack the stands, fill Section 214, and show these athletes how proud we are of everything they’ve accomplished.
