After 12 hours of competing against the best schools in the state yesterday, Northwest Overwatch took 3rd in the state, with the Rocket League team finishing in 7th place overall! These guys all worked and played insanely hard and with that, Northwest brings home another state trophy! Go Mounties!

Don't forget to visit the MiHSEF spring finals this Saturday, May 13 at the University of Michigan Flint REC Center!

Northwest High School Esports is looking for a volunteer coach to assist with the upcoming League of Legends season.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience
College Esports Experience
Plat + in Solo/Duo Queue
Experience working with HS/MS students

Required:
HS Diploma/GED
Clean Background Check
Can provide own device to coach on
Experience with Discord
Able to practice/scrim 2/3 days per week.

We host a bi-weekly SSBU tournament right at Northwest High school! Tomorrow's tournament registration starts at 4:30 and competition begins at 6. $2 venue fee and $3 bracket fee. Venue fee is waived if you bring a switch with SSBU with all dlc and a TV. Spectators are free. If you are on discord join the link below for all info. Come out and have some fun!

Hello Mountie Nation!

My name is Joshua Barnette, as most of the students and staff know our amazing director of Esports, Grant Pier will be running a program at another school! We have been working together to make a smooth transition for me to take the reigns as director for Northwest! I am excited and grateful for the opportunity! I look forward to working with everyone and continuing this great program. With the help of our great coaches and school staff I know we are well prepared for future seasons. Big thanks to Grant, our coaching staff and the NWHS staff for welcoming me with open arms and all the help I could ask for!

About Me :

I am a 30 year old husband and father of 4. I have been playing video games for 25 or so years. I started playing The Legend of Zelda with my grandmother in her hospice bed and never stopped. Since then I have done many different things in the gaming community including playing at the professional level in games such as Halo and Call of duty. Most recently I have been coaching Rocket League for Northwest High School. Gaming has always been a passion of mine and always will be!
