Vector Jiu-Jitsu Non-profit youth development program instilling the three core values of Know Yourself, Better Yourse Finally, a youth program destined for greatness!!

A one-of-a-kind outreach effort emphasizing "KNOW YOURSELF, BETTER YOURSELF, and HELP OTHERS" through the vehicle of jiu-jitsu training. Free to the students but "paid" for with their personal growth and mandated community service!! After extensive research and drawing from personal experience, my husband and I have founded this innovative non-profit Youth Development Program based on the instruct

ion of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu*. Uniquely, Vector Jiu-Jitsu will insist that participation and rank advancement require academic, personal growth and community service elements (to include work in a zero-waste organic garden). As a youth development program, our focus is not on prevention of negative behaviors but on the cultivation of maximum potential from our adolescents. Vector Jiu-Jitsu sees the youth of Jackson as a resource to be developed and not a problem to be managed.

*Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Roughly translating to “the gentle art”, Jiu-Jitsu is a ground-based grappling martial art that utilizes NO STRIKING of any kind. Similar to wrestling, the goal of a jiu-jitsu practitioner is to takedown and control an adversary using position and pressure. Vector Jiu-jitsu intends to use the growing popularity of this fascinating version of kinetic chess to emphasize technique and strategy over athleticism and aggression.

Thanks to the generosity of the Jiu-Jitsu Community... Not only will Ken's friend be able to travel from afar to say "Farewell"... but he'll have the food and dress clothes to do it without worry for those worldly needs. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE!

Vector Alum J'Kennethon Smith lost his life this week in a cruel hit-and-run. In true warrior form, his last act was selfless...pushing a female family member to safety while he absorbed the fatal impact.

One of his best friends & fellow jiu-jitsuka is stranded hours away, unable to make it to Ken's Homegoing Services without help.

We can go pick up Ken's friend but it will take about $150 in travel to do so.

WE NEED A HANDFUL OF GENEROUS HEARTS...to help us by donating a small amount to a travel fund to give these friends, teammates one last chance to say good bye?

Joseph Henry Savoian passed away peacefully March 14, 2020. His family has asked for memorial donations to be made to ILOF.com to help pay for the funeral expenses.
