It’s hard to believe that 5 ½ years ago I opened Align Pilates, pregnant with my first kiddo. And it is crazy to think how much has changed since then. Since opening, my little family has grown from one kid to two and our family businesses have grown from two to three. Needless to say, it’s been a busy time in the Modena household. Last year, I was lucky enough to gain a wonderful business partner, but with her husband’s job requiring a quick move, I was back to running the show with a newborn.
As this past year went on, and through some moments of clarity, I realized my world, and my top priority, was no longer my first baby, Align, but my children and family. It was then I realized that something needed to give, and the search began. That’s when I was connected with a wonderful human by some mutual friends. We clicked immediately, and her goals, and passion for the practice, felt like a no brainer. I knew, this was who needed to steward the business forward.
So here we are. I would love to introduce you to the new owner of Align Pilates, Sarah Adams. Sarah is a BASI Pilates graduate like myself, and has been teaching for almost 8 years with over 10,000 hours of hands-on experience. If there’s one thing Align has built as a community, it is that people walk in and immediately feel welcomed, egos are left at the door, and there is a sense of comradery. I am confident Sarah will continue with this intention, supporting those searching for balance in their lifestyles and post rehab support to get back to the activities they love. It felt important to me to find someone with the same love and passion for the outdoors, and Sarah embodies the Jackson lifestyle and livelihood. You can find her on the trails running, or hiking with her dogs, Moose and Akela, skiing on the pass, or fly fishing on the river.
While this may feel like a goodbye for me for now, I hope to see you all in the studio while I get back in touch with my own practice as a “student” again. Thank you again for all the support you have given me over the years, and know that the studio is in the best hands moving forward.
Sincerely,
Laura
