Who are the Black Knight Bowbenders? We are a group of dedicated Archers who enjoy Field Archery, Target Archery, 3-D shooting and Bow Hunting with Modern, Recurve and / or Traditional equipment. The Black Knight Bowbender’s were incorporated in 1959. Our Range, which we own, sits on almost 40 beautifully wooded rolling acres. Membership is limited to 125 members. We have two complete 28 target fi

eld ranges with New E-Z pull Bales and also a 14 target Traditional range. We feature a 90 meter Fita Range for Olympic style shooting. All of our ranges are challenging and perfectly maintained. We have a quality Bow Press and everything you need to tune your equipment. Our practice range goes out to 65 yards. We welcome family memberships and interested shooters of all ages. On most Thursday evenings in the summer we are open to the public for a small donation. We work closely with youth groups and have good training equipment and qualified instructors. If you are young or old, a novice or a pro, a bowhunter or a target shooter, we welcome you. Call for details. Our club often hosts major shoots including the now famous “Bigfoot Open” in July. Here is a brief excerpt from our constitution:
“The purpose of this organization shall be to foster, expand and perpetuate the practice of Field Archery and the spirit of good fellowship among all archers; to assist in the instruction of new archers when called upon to do so, especially in the areas of safety and sportsmanship; to maintain a field course and conduct field tournaments and games in accordance with the rules of the National and/or State Field Associations; to encourage the use of the bow in hunting all legal game birds and animals, and; to cooperate with the State and National Associations in securing better hunting privileges and conditions for bow hunting, and cooperate with all conservation organizations in the conservation of game.”
To join the club, complete the application and bring it to our next meeting. Meetings are generally held on the first Monday of each month at the Jackson Elks, on 1059 Veterans Hwy. (County Rd. 528), in Jackson, New Jersey. Meetings start at 7 PM. In summer months meetings are usually held at our range, so call one of the numbers below to be sure of location and time. BKB is located on Perrineville Road, Jackson, New Jersey. Directions: Exit Interstate 195 onto 537 North (The Great Adventure exit) and make an immediate right onto Anderson Road. Drive ½ mile on Anderson and you will see the road split off to the right to an unpaved Perrineville Road. The range is one mile on the right. Our annual dues are currently only $75 plus tax with a one time initiation fee of $100 plus tax and currently a one time land assessment fee of $ 100. Application for membership will be presented by an applicant, in person, at a regular meeting and be accompanied by an Active or Social Member as introducing sponsor. Prospective members will be accepted on probationary basis for a period of 6 months. After this probationary period has expired the membership will vote to accept or reject the application. What a fantastic day at the annual TANJ Knock Our Blocks shoot hosted at Black Knight Bowbenders! 🏹

A great day was had by all, filled with challenging shots, friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and the camaraderie that makes the traditional archery community so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organize, set up, score, cook, and keep the day running smoothly. Events like this don't happen without countless hours of work behind the scenes, and we appreciate all of your efforts.

The 4th Annual “Knock Our Block” Tournament is coming up fast at Black Knight Bowbenders on Saturday, May 31st — and spots are filling quickly!

This traditional-only shoot is open to anyone shooting a longbow, recurve, or selfbow. You do not need to be a club member to participate.

📍 Location: Black Knight Bowbenders – Jackson, NJ
🕖 Registration: 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM SHARP
🎯 Shotgun Start: 9:00 AM
💵 Entry Fee: $30 CASH ONLY

A big addition to the Hunters Helping the Hungry is the "Triple Crown" 3D Shoot. Grab a can or two of Pork and Beans or any Non-Perishable foor item and your bow and come on out on Sunday!

Q: What is the "Triple Crown"?
A: It is an exciting three-leg money 3D shoot to be held in April, May and June at Black Knights with Finals in August.

Q: Who is it designed for?
A: Any shooter who wants to compete for money and fame in either Open, Hunter or Traditional classes.

Q: Are there payouts?
A: Yes, there will be payouts at each of the 3 Legs of the Triple Crown and also at the Finals in August.

Q: Do I need to pre-register?
A: No. Registration opens at 7AM and scorecards must be in no later than 2:30 PM.

Q: Who will be the “Shooter of the Year”?
A: The “Shooter of the Year” will be the Top Shooter in each class who competes in all three legs.

Q: Who came up with this format?
A: A team headed by Matt Byrnes, NJSFAA President with input from top shooters from across each class.The goal is to host a major 3D tournament event in New Jersey that will attract shooters who want to compete and enjoy archery to its fullest!

Two days of relaxed 3D shooting in the beautiful Jackson, NJ woods! 100 3D's set up for your entertainment all at one low price! The 'BKB 100" has become a CLASSIC "dont miss" event here in Central NJ. The Layout has changed again so it's a whole new game!
