GTRelay Canceled

For the past 6 years the Mom and Pop team at GTRelay (aka Ryan and Heather), have invested blood, sweat and tears to make the Grand Teton Relay something special. We feel like we have seen it all including grizzly bears, angry farmers, epic thunder storms, thousands of runners from all over the country toiling up and through some of most challenging and beautiful terrain on the planet, hundreds of thousands of smiles, decorated vans, Sasquatch and most of all the triumph of the human spirit in a place that we consider sacred and hallowed. Every moment has been cherished.

Unfortunately, life and the running industry has taken a detour and we will be canceling the Grand Teton Relay. In terms of participants, the Grand Teton Relay hits its peak in 2015. In 2016 we saw a significant decline and 2017 is worse yet. Historically, we have 90% of our teams registered by April 30th. Based on current projections the 2017 Grand Teton Relay would be operating at a significant loss. This decision to cancel was not made lightly.

But we don't want you hung out to dry with no relay adventure on the horizon. For this reason we have teamed up with Ragnar to give you more reasons to get out and run through the night this year.

If you are registered for the 2017 GTRelay, your team captain will receive a direct email with instructions and options for your team.

Leg 8-the stuff of legends. Kings and Queens are made on this leg after blood, sweat and tears have been shed. If you will be running for the title this year let us warn you in advance--it will hurt.
