Round of 16 set in City Golf Championship
The round of 16 for the Jackson City Golf Championship at the Country Club of Jackson has been set.
There were few surprises in the opening round as most of the top seeds won Sunday at CC of J.
Defending champion Trevor Raymond will face Lance Woodland after Raymond defeated Justin Fowler 3&2 and Woodland won his match over Jason Norris 4&2.
Former Jackson Masters champion Joey Badall will take on Riley Hestwood in the second round following a 7&6 win over Brian Carney and a 2up win by Hestwood over Chris Chaney.
Jamie Clark defeated Chris Chrzan 4&3 in the opening round and will face Kyle Bowler who defeated Shane Clark 5&4.
Brian C**n defeated Logan Douglas 6&4 and Greg Zeller earned a 2&1 win over Tony Hurd setting up a battle of multiple major winning golfers in the round of 16.
Bret Valkuchak faces Mike Brockie in the second round as Valkuchak defeated Matt Brown 5&4 and Brockie beat Rob Longbrake 3&2.
Mike Raymond and Michael Boldt face one another in the round of 16 as both defeated their opponents 3&1.
Luke Girodat defeated Drew Blackgrove 5&4 and Nick Henman won 2&1 over Logan Wagner setting up a round of 16 matchup.
Cody Lysher and Zach Defrain will face one another in the round of 16. Lysher defeated Andy Horodecki 4&3 and Defrain outlasted Justin Bunch 2 up.
The round of 16 match-play matches will be played June 2 at the Country Club of Jackson.
Quarterfinals will be June 3 or 4, the semis are June 5, and the 36-hole final will be June 6.
