The purpose of our program is first and foremost to uphold the mission of Belhaven University Athletics by leading athletes to mature in every aspect of their life while honoring Christ. MEMBERSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY
Our program is open to all female and male students who attend or have been accepted to Belhaven University. Applicants will be expected to participate in the tryout process. All Belhave
n Cheerleaders must have the desire to progress their skill level. The current minimum preferences are: run under a 9 minute mile, standing back handspring, running back handspring, combination jump to back handspring, one legged stunts, and full down from stunts. While the following is a current minimum suggestion for physical skills, BU takes into account the entire cheerleader. Work ethic, athleticism, and personality will be weighted more heavily in the tryout process. SEASONAL OBLIGATION
Cheerleaders will be expected to attend: all home Football and Basketball games, practices an average of twice a week in the evenings, Strength & Conditioning workouts, monthly Team Bonding activities, and various events as representatives for the University.
