Sandhills Pointing Breeds Club (SPBC) is a licensed AKC performance club. The training grounds are owned by SPBC and located in Jackson Springs, NC. (updated 2025)

This weekend, the Sandhills Pointing Breeds Club put on its first field trial since 2012. The committee was comprised of people with varying field trial experience but we all wanted to put on a quality walking trial. Prior to this event, there has been only one all-breed AKC field trial per year in North Carolina. The interest in this event was high - we had a long waiting list, which shows the desire for walking trials in this area.

The event was really successful! We were able to hold it at beautiful Oak Hill Farm in Oxford, NC and we had great weather, great camaraderie, and lots of spectators. Lanka placed second in Open Puppy and enjoyed meeting people.

This was my first time being an integral part of a field trial committee, and while it was a lot of work, it was also really fun. Hopefully we can do it again!
