Some seasons are measured by trophies. This one will be measured by the people these girls are becoming. ❤️🥎
Last year, our girls closed out their 10U journey by finishing 3rd in the national tournament. This year, in our very first season of 12U, they took on an even bigger challenge and finished 4th in the national tournament.
While those accomplishments are something to be incredibly proud of, they aren't what we, as coaches, remember most about this season.
We'll remember the grit.
We'll remember the girls who showed up to every practice ready to work. The ones who trusted the process, accepted coaching, pushed through hard days, and never stopped believing in one another. They understood that getting better sometimes means hearing things you don't always want to hear, and they embraced that challenge with maturity well beyond their years.
This team played one of the toughest schedules we've ever put together. We faced incredible competition all year long, and not once did these girls back down. Not once did they complain. They simply laced up their cleats, stepped on the field, and went back to work.
What makes Texas Angels special has never been the wins. It's the culture.
It's knowing that no one player is bigger than the team. No family is more important than another. We celebrate each other's successes, pick each other up after failures, and understand that every role matters. That kind of culture doesn't happen by accident. It takes a village. It takes selfless parents who put the team first. It takes coaches who believe in every player. And it takes girls who are willing to be coached, willing to be challenged, and willing to put their teammates before themselves.
To our parents, thank you. Thank you for every mile driven, every hotel room booked, every weekend spent at the ballpark, and every sacrifice you made so these girls could chase their dreams. Your support means more than you'll ever know.
And to these girls...thank you for reminding us why we coach. Thank you for your heart, your resilience, your work ethic, and your love for one another. Watching you grow—not just as softball players, but as young ladies—has been the greatest reward of all.
Back-to-back Top 4 finishes at Nationals—3rd at 10U and 4th in our first year of 12U—is something to celebrate. But even more than that, I'm proud of the character you've built, the friendships you've formed, and the example you've set.
Championships are remembered.
Character lasts forever.
WE couldn't be prouder to be your coaches.
Here's to another unforgettable season and many more to come. 💙🥎
Always in your corner,
Coach Gray, Coach Thomas, Coach Emma
