Team Padgett/Young went out with a bang on their final high school bass tournament on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina. This was no ordinary tournament. It was the biggest of the big. It was the Strike King BASSMASTER High School National Championship presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The best high school anglers from across the United States and Canada competed. It was a three day tournament. The first two days the whole field competed. On day three only the top twelve fished. Thirty eight states were represented. Sixty eight teams were from Alabama. A total of 481 teams fished the tournament.
On day one team, Padgett/Young caught a limit of three fish weighing 11.14lbs. They finished in 4th place out of 481 teams.
On day two, the team caught a limit of three fish weighing 9.8lbs and again placed 4th out of 481.
With a two day total of 21.6lbs and for the second time placed 4th which qualified them to fish a third day as the top twelve.
Upon finishing the third day on Championship Saturday team Padgett/Young finished 4th in the NATION!!!
Fourth out of 481 of the best high school anglers is a wonderful accomplishment and we are proud of Avery and Ethan!
A special thanks goes out to Logan Parks for spending the week with them as their boat captain!
