Conditions are dry everywhere, including Tidewater Horse Trail. With this early heat, all of the trails are dry. The beaver pond on the blue trail still has water. The lane and parking area are dry and in good condition.
If the weather forcast is correct, this weekend will be slightly cooler and early next week will be much cooler and fantastic conditions should exist.
Don't forget, the SEAT ride is Saturday so please come support this wonderful group that does so much for our sport. THT is open to the general public during the SEAT event, but please try to support them on Saturday. Also, work with the SEAT volunteers on parking if you aren't participating in their event.
Don't wait until the bugs get bad. Come to THT and enjoy some camping and riding this spring. We hope to see you this weekend!

We hope the weather forcast is correct and this weekend will offer great riding conditions.
Due to the extreme weather we have encountered this winter, James River fox hunt has not been able to hold many hunts. So, we are offering James River another make up date since the last make up date, February 21st, was canceled due to frozen ground. We understand that both day riders and annual pass holders are eager to ride. Therefore, in an effort to accommodate everyone, we are hosting James River's hunt this Saturday, March 7. The hunt will take place entirely on the north side of Warrique rd. (same side as the parking lot). All other riders are allowed to ride on the south side of Warrique rd. (opposite side from the parking area). Both hunters and riders will share the parking area. The hunt will end at 12:00 and at that time riders are allowed on all trails.
If you choose to ride this Saturday, please observe this restricted area in the morning hours. We hope this will allow both hunters and riders to enjoy their sport and feel they are receiving a good value at THT.
Thank you and we hope to see you as the temperatures rise at Tidewater Horse Trail.

The fox hunt scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled due to wet conditions and poor footing. Sorry for the sudden change this close to the event. We will be open to the general public tomorrow, as well as every day of the week. Please check our calendar on the Tidewater Horse Trail website for all special events. The trails and the lane are both wet, but anyone wishing to ride tomorrow is welcome.
For your information, James River Fox Hunt holds 2 hunts each year at THT. We put these hunts on our page, website and calendar well in advance to the hunt. Late notice was given for the fox hunt scheduled for tomorrow because it was a make up from a hunt canceled in all of snow, ice and cold. We apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused anyone and we will continue to give everyone as much notice as possible onupcoming events.
The weather will improve eventually and we hope to see you at THT when it does.

If you are able to ride this week, come enjoy the warmer weather that is forecasted.
