I know, I know. I went MIA again and everything went quiet over here on this page. But I have a good reason, I promise!

After beginning lessons with some new students a few months ago, things came to a screeching halt due to my health. Nothing is wrong (per se)....

I'm just pregnant again. πŸ˜…

And this one has been a lot harder on my body than my other two, so I made the decision to slow way down and put my equestrian endeavors on hold until spring of 2026.

Selena is still here (she's not going anywhere!) but Chey and Bacon returned to their old owner a few months ago. I just couldn't keep up with the maintenance of three horses while being pregnant thru these colder months.

I am due the first week of January, but there's a good chance this baby will make an appearance anytime around Christmas, so if you don't see any updates here until after the new year, that is why!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year and we will see you again in the Spring! πŸ’œ

Happy First Day of Fall from Against All Odds Horsemanship 🀎

So, I am ✨CASUALLY✨ (and I mean that with the strongest inflection and the strongest urgency to not get your panties in a wad) looking for a second horse to add to our farm.

But here's the thing: I am moving at a snail's pace on this for multiple reasons, the biggest one being a financial reason - I do not want to BUY (you know, pay to own) another horse right now.

I'm looking for a "free lease" so to speak, where I will cover the cost of care for said horse, but if this particular horse doesn't fit into the program I'm trying to build, it can be returned to its owner without any issues.

I'd also consider housing a horse that someone still wants to retain ownership of but doesn't currently have the time for, but is still willing to pay their upkeep costs (so, like board a horse with me, but the owner doesn't mind other people riding or grooming it and keeping it in shape).

OR, under the right circumstances, I would be willing to work on a consignment sale horse with someone where I take in a horse they're trying to find a home for, use it in my program where kids and teenagers would be working with and riding it and putting miles on it, help market it on social media, and then when it sells, bring in another one. (This is also ideal for my students to get experience on different types of horses as they progress thru the program!).

But like I said, I'm moving SUPER CASUALLY on this because there's really no rush to get one in here and I need to find one that is safe for kids, patient with beginners, and will live harmoniously with our current horse, Selena.

But I'm putting my feelers out now just in case there's a unicorn hiding in the distance (or someone else's barn) that would be perfect for my program. ☺️

In other news, I want to put something down here to cover the roots and make it look more presentable. What should I put here? πŸ€”

Here are some pictures from the lesson this morning with Kalaya and Sophia. We will look back on these in a couple months and see so much improvement, I just know it! 😁

Help us in welcoming Kalaya and Sophia to the AAOH team! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

These sisters are interested in learning all there is to know about horses with our beautiful lesson program.

Kalaya wants to become a barrel racer while Sophia is more interested in following an English path that will take her over fences.

I am super excited to see these girls every weekend and develop them into the next generation of equestrians!

Welcome to the team, girls! πŸ“£πŸ₯³

If a guy ever asks you to ride him like you ride your horse, promptly without hesitation jump on his back and kick him in the ribs. Ask for piaffe. Be the Grand Prix Queen that you are. πŸ’…πŸ»

Here at Against All Odds Horsemanship, I don't have a method for training and working horses. (Well, not one that I can teach over and over again anyway.)

But I do have a philosophy, a set of principles as you will, that all of my training is based on.

Every horse is different, and each one requires a somewhat different approach - and so do my students.

But the principles? They stay the same.

And I'll reveal those principles to you over time. That is, if you're willing to wait as they reveal themselves to you. πŸ’œ
