Last night MPR took the Jaco Rocket to the High Banks of Highway 72 Speedway to see what our little 604 Crate engine could do against a tough field of 365 Limited Late Models.

We unloaded way off the pace, finishing near the bottom of the hot lap charts as we struggled with the heavy track conditions. But this team never quits. We went to work, made the right adjustments, and by qualifying the car came to life. We sat on the pole for a while before ending up P3 overall, putting us 3rd in our heat race.

We knew we had a hot rod capable of running with anyone in the field.

When the green flag dropped, we were battling side-by-side with the leaders for the top spot. Then disaster struck. We made contact with a tractor tire, which launched us into another tractor tire, causing severe front-end and frame damage.

Unfortunately, our night ended right there.

The damage is extensive enough that it’ll be a little while before we’re back on the racetrack. That’s the hardest part—not just for our team, but for our sponsors who invest so much in us. We were looking forward to chasing some of the biggest-paying races of the season, and it hurts knowing we’ll likely miss those opportunities.

Racing can be cruel, but it also builds character. We’ll get this car back in the shop, work our tails off, and rebuild it stronger than ever. MPR isn’t done yet.

🏁 Race Day at the High Banks of Highway Speedway! 🏁

MPR is back in action tonight at the High Banks of Highway 72 Speedway in Corinth, Mississippi, after a few weeks away from the track due to issues with our pull truck.

On that note… if anyone knows of a dependable pull truck for sale, let us know! We’re in the market and would appreciate any leads.

We’re excited to get back behind the wheel. The team has been working hard, and we know we’ve got the speed to contend for a win tonight.

Come out to Highway 72 Speedway and enjoy an exciting night of dirt track racing. We appreciate all the fans who continue to support us each week.
